There's a fella on r/btc doing a sterling job bringing the Chinese side of things to life. Here's his latest summary of Jihan Wu from Antpool's post on 8btc - https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/495866/the_rbtc_china_dispatch_11_summary_selected/

Let me paraphrase what you really meant to say in your above post.

"I'm here posting in the BTC/USD wall observer thread in order to wank off regarding my lil alt coin friend."

eh,lol   dunoo wot u talkin about m8.
Ok i mean...if someone wants alot of btc and market isnt dumpin...lets get them to trade for a coin thats been pumped x12 in 2months, and then dump on them too take at least half the BTC of them...alot of strong handed BTC players have been buyin another coin at its ath..those guys maybe in for a rude awaking.
Also this core/classic/seg/blkstream blah blah might do nothing at all and the BTC halving kicks in...
Finally i firmly believe BTC will have another ATH before halving.

it could go much lower still, but it's going to bounce back, and it can't go down for much longer; after segwit increase capacity by 50% and core starts talking about other segwit like enhancements + the up coming 2MB HF, all this FUD about scaling bitcoin will vanish. this is probably the last wave of selling induced by blocksize debate.

will armstrong make another post about how he wants 2MB HF now and segwit later? will anyone care? stay tuned tomorrow!

my plan is to be back to "all in" long before segwit is released ( re-entry in progress NOW... )  and then sell again when segwit is released.

i'm saying "rumor has it everything is going to be alright" and i'll sell the news when everyone is buying like crazy thinking "everything is going to be alright"

yeap maybe a bit down but overall once (btc)dust(lol) settles and halving gets near there gonna be a huge fomo and prob low liquidty on sell side which will cause a huge spike to another ATH.

“To summarize the above, Core is protected by both by its monopoly brand as well as the costs associated with migration to a different implementation. Furthermore, the fact that software development itself requires a solid organization as well as the fact that many important and active developers are employed by the same company gives them tremendous organizational power, allowing them to easily eliminate internal divisions, achieve consensus and put up a unified front. They are emotionally linked together and I even perceive that they have established a social dynamic that one often sees in religious groups which causes them to develop a surprising level of confirmation bias"

it's weird i change the poll, and it reorders the options and drops a few, i have to fight with the thing to get the options i want.

I am sure that theymos has a solution for that in the new forum under development.  (Yes, it is nostalgia week.)

LOL!

Gotta say though, glad I gots me some ETH at the initial sale 2000 to 1 - just a token amount, wish I'd have taken a bigger flier on that, but somehow I remember expecting bitcoin to rebound at that time and just couldn't justify several grand on a flier.. 😕

What seems bizarre to me is that the HK CRTA comes out and the market shoots up from $375 to $450, a seventy five dollar increase. Then pools start coming out one at a time making it clear there is no consensus, and the market only retraces 60 bucks.

It seems like there should be more than a complete retrace.  28.4 million in leveraged longs on BFX. It seems crazy to say this, especially so close to the halving, but I think there is a real possibility that $300 will get another serious test of support.  There is still too much uncertainty with scaling and governance.

There is still too much uncertainty with scaling and governance.

If you dislike uncertainty, might I offer an alternative?

Certain scaling: "Monero doesn't suffer from this block size debate, because it has a dynamic block size limit."

Certain governance: "Basic bottom line: every 6 months there's a hard fork. You get 1 hard fork's grace before you have to update or be left behind."

I wouldn't be surprised to see some shocking news about some core devs mysteriously  disappearing.

this has VERY often been the price to sticking to one's principles...

I've been waiting for someone to say this. It's a scary thought.
