In reference to the $500 break, there is a mention of China in nearly every article. However, before that there wasn't.

It doesn't take Woodward and Bernstein to pull up Fiatleak.

It doesn't take Woodward and Bernstein to pull up Fiatleak. Fiatleak is not useful for determining where bitcoin demand originates. Let's see how far this rally has legs. Making it to 650 would be great.

I would have thought there'd have been more in the media about how much dirty coal money is taking flight from China this way, or how environmentally unsustainable the whole thing seems to be. I assume more or less equal parts corruption by the Chinese authorities and complicity by Western media.
Where is the media hype? I don't watch TV so I legitimately don't know and would appreciate examples.
I did saw a brief mention of it last Monday on the propaganda channel named "RT" in the economic news show called Boom Bust. But it was mentioned and talked about for a brief 30 seconds! And no mention of China in their short presentation.

Well from an economic perspective, Russia, despite their land mass vastness... Their economic impact in the world they have, does not give them too much trouble to be taken in consideration. Russia is mostly avoided from any of their news... its like a state from another planet. So they are allowed to talk smack about all the other countries in the world.

It's entertaining watching these Chinese walls of 500-1500 coins moving around now. Though it still doesn't compare to Gox when you'd randomly see a bid order pop up for 25,366 (real) coins.

It's imminent the next arrival to $600. The poll shows that most bitcoiners expect an increase to $1000 at the end of this month, and perhaps it's a good time to become optimistic despite my usual skepticism. you know, when people are out on the streets happily roaming about wearing sunglasses and flipflops because the sky is blue, it can be hard to imagine rainfall and cold air. EDIT: I read a lot of "I'm all in", "finally bought back today" comments here. That makes me think we could well have a sizable correction this weekend. On the other hand: mass-media hype has just started. There's a huge delay for "normal folk" to "get in". Could have more legs, too. Maybe both. Where is the media hype? I don't watch TV so I legitimately don't know and would appreciate examples. By the way, I saw this today: https://www.tradingview.com/chart/BTCUSD/JRCAC2XU-Predictive-Analysis-of-the-Next-Megabull-Cycle-To-the-Moon/Bitcoin itself isn't in the mainstream news but sometimes you see something about "blockchain" and how some bankers and tech companies are integrating Ethereum or blockchain. Also if you do a search for Bitcoin news, you always see all these unanimously positive-sounding news articles about bankers, wall street, tech companies, investments, deals, and such. Mainstream press only really covers bitcoin if it crashes and burns/ dev fights/ etc....they otherwise ignore it when the price pumps..figuring some new drama or FUD will come along and drive the price down (hey they may be on to something) .....bitcoin the Mexican soap opera of crypto
