BTC is already out of league for most of the people. If we think about one btc at $650 is unaffordable for tha majority of the people out there.
I'm here because I bought in $220 which was already a lot IMHO.
A higher BTC price will make it an elite thing
Bitcoin is cheap at only $.65 per mBTC. It's actually a dirt cheap penny stock at 0.065 cent per bit.

I'm laughing at people that try to short the halving.
In a couple of days you may laugh at me. And we'll see who laughs last... Tzopy bear... what do you think of our Leo? ... I think it will go 1:1 parity with the Euro in the next 1-2 years. I hope you play your fiat cards right...

The amount of FUCD and general misinformed/malicious negativity that has been spread about the halving means there will be a relief rally of some sort when it turns out to be a nothing more than a quite boring, uneventful clicking over of the time-stamping calendar and everything works as advertised on the tin.
For those of us that have been around for the first one it isn't even a consideration but there are probably a lot of new faces who will be apprehensive about the deflationary mechanism in the bitcoin algorithm until they see it work with their own eyes.
Yes, seen quite a few articles foretelling disaster. They like that sensationalist stuff though, like the Millennium Bug (and in this instance as then, what will occur is blissful nothingness).

Last chance to grab some coin before halving and the price goes absolutely skyrocket bananas. Instant disappearance of half the entire bitcoin supply growth. Like lifting a 1000 tonne weight off a volcano Also, I'm sure core are precision-timing the release of key new announcements and technologies to co-incide with said event as they are taking no chances. So get buying now or loose access to all known train tickets

The party of the nothing happened when everyone expected something to happen? We gonna see no move. The next 24 hours aren't critical tru dat leet! Everything always gets priced in months before as I anticipated... Funny thing is the poll...it always shows the retail traders which of course are always wrong aka odd lot theory!

Everything always gets priced in months before as I anticipated... Bitcoin is constantly evading predictions of death. The 'priced-in' effect depends on the company behind a certain stock performing as expected. If so many expect bitcoin to be a failure, the market can't be 'priced in.' Also, performance can sometimes be totally unexpected. Eg. Facebook. Also, bitcoin isn't a stock. As long as bitcoin has intrinsic value (which we agree it does), the price can boom due to economic conditions, just like the precious metals market. PM's are worth more in times of economic uncertainty.

where's the intrinsic value? i don't believe anything has intrinsic value in the great scheme of things. value's awarded and mutually agreed, it's not a concrete thing.

Intrinsic may be the wrong word, yet describing bitcoin fundamentals and utility may justify the same conclusion that bitcoin is valuable as it has been created and has the ability and the potential to fill various niches in ways that are currently inadequately fulfilled.
