So what? I've had just as many posts, speaking out against big blocks, deleted from this thread. It has nothing to do with big/small blocks and everything to do with being off-topic. Pretty much all of my posts that have received moderation over the years come from the wall observer thread. It's nothing new.
I have tried to keep an equal and impartial moderation stance (regardless of my views) as much as possible. Keep in mind that I'm not the only moderator who can delete posts here (before someone jumps to any conclusion with specific examples).

I'm not complaining. Like I said, I know I'm posting off-topic. I just can't help it sometimes (especially in this thread).

That's just it.  There used to be nothing off topic here.  It was a lounge.  That atmosphere has been killed and now it is a much less enjoyable thread to participate in.  Intelligent discourse has died off and we are left with trolling and people spreading FUD.

I will admit that bitcointalk has grown quite a bit over time and maybe that is most of the problem since you have to keep a much larger herd from stampeding.  But it just sucks that this place is nothing like it was a few years ago.  I really liked that place.

This thread is not a chat-box

But think of the time you could save yourself every day from having to moderate >320,000 posts?  Cheesy

Additionally, censoring such discussion only contributes to the myth that moderators here are unfairly targeting big blockers.
As confirmed by Holliday, both sides get deleted because they are off-topic (not because of the content).

When you delete a post, you should state why it has been deleted to the respective poster.

Currently messages are just being deleted, no reason given. If someone talks here about bigger blocks or Segwit disadvantages, and the message is deleted without a reason given, what do you think the poster's opinion about censoring certain subjects will be?

True. However, keep in mind that:
1) I wouldn't be doing my 'job' then. Embarrassed
2) If I close an eye on 1 thread, the only fair/equal action is to do the same for all threads. Suddenly you get people talking everywhere about everything.

This cat can handle it for now (mostly posts that were created after I started moderating here though).

When you delete a post, you should state why it has been deleted to the respective poster.
That's just not feasible and not how things currently work. You get an automated response which tells you that it's likely an off-topic post.

I do miss the train/rocket pictures. You need to step up your game!

Hi ya bunch of nutters!

You ready to get rich (or richer)?

I mean proper lambie rich (so you can spend the rest of your life trolling the interwebz) ?

Where have you been buddy, I've missed you a lot, long time since I've seen you.

Are you fine ?

Extremely happy to see you back Smiley

Just got tired of the JJG thread.

Also it's tough to see so many of the people I thought highly of fail so hard at applying their thinkers properly.

But I'm looking forward to posting lots of train pics and gifs when the price starts getting properly nutty.

Spewing hatred regarding Yiddishers is one of the vibrant pillars of this forum. Weirdly enough, if I remember rightly quite a few of my deletions relate to calling people out for this. Dunno if the initial anti-semites got their botty's smacked.

A while back, I guess last year, I remember saying that i would only continue buying while the price was under $300.  My last btc purchase was yesterday.

We are not quite to $800, yet, but it is feeling closer and closer, and maybe we will not be able to rest assured about passing $800 until we get to about $820.  I am kind of thinking that we are going to shoot past $800 - but it remains really so difficult to tell - because this latest upturn from lower $600s to our present price location has been ever so graduated.. (step by step over 3 or 4 months)

So long as the price goes up, it really cannot be a bad decision to have bought at a higher price.  On the other hand, sometimes any of us can become a bit too invested in bitcoin, and from time to time, we may need to shed a few of them, just to remain a bit more balanced (especially when the price is going up - and really in the past 16 months, prices have gone up more than 3x - so it does not hurt the ecosystem to shed a few coins, here and there, especially if we got some of those coins in the $200s, $300s, $400s, $500s or even $600s.. and maybe soon, $700s could become "history."   Cheesy Cheesy

OmG.  It was $791 when I checked on Sunday noon and it now $794 which make it the price of bitcoin is increasing $3 per day and it does look like it will hit $800 before the year end Smiley
