Cost of production to mine anything in space will be astronomical so you're wasting my time even mentioning it. You might as well claim we will mine gold inside a black hole or alternate dimension. We would probably attempt to mine metals 2 miles under the ocean long before space but that is of course no threat to anyone buying at current prices.
http://www.planetaryresources.com/http://deepspaceindustries.com/Cost to start mining will be astronomical but so will be the quantities mined. Asteroid mining is not that far away in time. Privatization of space industry is bringing down costs. You don't really know whether the costs will be so high that the market won't be flooded enough to keep the price of precious metals down. Lol, this is complete bullshit and those companies are basically Buttalik Butterin IPO scams. It's such bullshit they can't even create a valid infographic of what said mining would look like. Does this look like something you're going to see anytime soon or even a valid way to mine in the first place? LOL. Let me guess, the structure on the left is a Dyson sphere they're trying to maneuver around the sun to start up the miner (which probably also mines bitcoin at the same time): That's a futuristic concept art, you don't need that kind of structure to start mining an asteroid, and it's not a Dyson sphere. You don't have to maneuver kilometer long asteroids, small ones will do, there are ones passing close by Earth, you don't have to go to the other side of the Sun or something. It will probably be a couple decades but you shouldn't be so dismissive of it, especially if you're betting all on precious metals Yes, yes, right after we are all culturally enriched by forced rapefugee bombardment taking the average IQ down from 100 to 75, this will grant us the power of interstellar travel and space mining: http://whitegenocideproject.com/governor-tells-minnesotans-to-find-another-state-if-they-dont-like-african-immigration/

The longer btc-e is down, the lower the price will go on speculation that yet another exchange was hacked.
Yikes. I bet their troll box guys are starting to freak out. Wonder if they have any connection with the AlphaBay stuff?

Yikes. I bet their troll box guys are starting to freak out. Wonder if they have any connection with the AlphaBay stuff? This is what first crossed my mind, AlphaBay goes dark, founder 'commits suicide', BTC-e goes down ... sounds like the whole thing went pear shaped in a shoot-out at OK-Corral kind of way. I guess we just have to wait to see how many dead bodies and corrupt cops float to the surface now. And Bitmixer ceases operations with some "weird" statement like he has just now realized that mixers are bad for Bitcoin. Something is happening... not necessarily a bad thing though.

Remember folks: Whale insiders don't just massively run up a thin market with leverage, unless they've got a way to also bring it down waiting in their back pocket... if it happens, it was all by design. For example... http://www.businessinsider.com/chipotle-conspiracy-theory-gains-steam-2017-7

This is the month of max FUD. Not everyone gets to survive.
It does seem like it, doesn't it? UAHF, Bitcoin ABC, Bitcoin Cash, Alphabay and Hans seized, Bitmixer gone, BTC-e suddenly down. And Bitmixer ceases operations with some "weird" statement like he has just now realized that mixers are bad for Bitcoin.
Something is happening... not necessarily a bad thing though.
"Something". Anything centralized and illegal which grows that big eventually will get found and shut down. That's for sure. However, this is a non issue with the rise of decentralized solutions, e.g. JoinMarket and Tumblebit. They are superior to mixers anyways. Speculation like that often only leads to panic. It is possibly as the story would fit, but I wouldn't place any bets on it yet.
I wonder how much BTC-e going down has affected the price.

BitMixer maybe?
BTC-e most probably. $4 *BILLIONS* laundered? An exchange or.. yeah maybe bitmixer, but I bet on btc-e You don't really launder money with a mixer, on the contrary... no matter what you input to it, the output is "black cash" as it breaks the trace of its origins.

Yep. That's how it works, any website where illicit activities take place is considered an e-crime website. No matter what percentage of its grand total is really related to those crimes (including money laundering). I am somewhat in favor for another purge of the ecosystem so that any remaining complaints like "Bitcoin is only used for crime" get left behind.

A purge of this whole US Drug War would go a long way toward making society better. Labeling every little thing as "money laundering" just because you can't track every penny in the world is ridiculous.

And yet the mysterious ESF and big banks like Citi, JP Morgan, and HSBC are allowed to launder billions of black market U.S. dollars per year with impunity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5Y4UGPQTLg
