The masses aren't even aware of Bitcoin, let alone the scaling debate.
There is no scaling debate, there is only an centralization attack on Bitcoin.
So, who sold at the bottom? Some lovely buy walls are occasionally appearing on Bitstamp.

I don 't think the quarreling and chaos in the bitcoin sphere is very helpful for mass adoption.
It's a little painful right now, but it will be positive over the long term. The war of ideas must be fought now so that we have a stronger bitcoin going forward.

I'm beginning to wonder if the masses will every start buying, or if Bitcoin will only remain a niche investment. What would it take to see something like a line of people out the door in front machines like that one? Perhaps one day hyperinflation will kick in, or a total fiat collapse. Maybe then that will wake them up.
The vast majority of people either have never heard of Bitcoin or are barely aware of its existence. Most of those who know about it don't really understand it. Ignorance breeds fear and apprehension. It certainly doesn't lead to people putting in their hard-earned money. This is why public adoption is so low and why we're still basically in the early adopter phase. As public awareness and education grows. so will adoption. The s-curve of adoption is still a long way from going vertical. When that happens, we'll see the 6-digit prices many speculate about. I've been involved with bitcoin for many years and don't understand it.....

I have a newfound respect for the Winkles and their ability to not say a bunch of stupid shit.
Something I never considered. Good point. Actually if you've not noticed, none of the big time Bitcoin investors have said anything during all this controversy. Because they know it is just a bunch of ongoing FUD drama designed to shake out the weak minded. Tim Draper Richard Branson Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss Reid Hoffman Wences Casares Peter Thiel etc., etc.

Good thing I hedged my shorts. Very suspicious how it hovered around $4k for an hour. Then a $100 pump in 15 minutes. Bitcoin is such a wild animal. I'd lose my shit daytrading it.

You must not be too familiar with the U.S. millionaire entrepreneurial mindset. They are anything but shy in voicing either their views or concerns.
