You guys really crack me up with these "we need to do this or that" pontifications. As if anyone here is even remotely involved in the development of Bitcoin.

But by all means, go forth and make it happen!  Cheesy

Looks like some Core elite developer already has a M.A.D. plan ongoing:

I am personally in favor of more decentralization in mining and all, so I tend to favor a change in PoW to end the Chinese miner's mafia, even if this could cause much chaos and desruption in the short to medium term. The question is if the new algo will be asic-resistant, or we'll be at square 1 in a few months.

There is no escape from centralisation, all algorithms can be optimised in hardware to some extent, and centralising that hardware gives you economies of scale.
You need geographic separation between devices, or guaranteed different human operators... solve that and you've got a winner Smiley

People are working on it, look at this for a try https://github.com/the-laughing-monkey/cicada-platform (i'm yet to fully read it)

Even if you are a US citizen outside of the US.

Current top of the 15% income tax bracket is $37,950 according to https://www.fool.com/retirement/2016/12/04/your-guide-to-tax-brackets-in-2017.aspx
Any earned income above that puts you into the 25% income tax bracket which also puts you in the 20% capital gains bracket.

Not if you're a Puerto rico resident. Seriously.

Lombrozo should follow through and ignore Wu's lies, I have no idea how he could accomplish it though.
Lomborzo could even 'kickstart/donate' to get funding and have enough within the hour.
Everyone is tired of Bitmain.

Jeebus, that's infantile.

Instead of pooling money to tear down Bitman, why don't you pool your money to outcompete them? Add to Bitcoin's security, rather than destroy it.

That's something I have always wondered. Why heavily invested individuals/groups (those in the high tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands BTC) don't invest/create in a competing ASICS manufacturer?.

I can understand that mining activity depends on other factors like cheap electricity, cheap maintenance labour, etc so Chineese pools will always have an advantage there. More so if there is any State support that we are not aware of. But they could compete in mining equiment development/manufacturing.

There is only a logical answer: they feel that the risk is too high.
Either because most of the easy coins have already been mined, and/or because they do not expect that it would be a secure investment (due to civil wars, change in PoW, etc).
But I hear that Russia has electricity at 1 cent/Kwh and that's why they want to get in at the top State level.

Indeed. I reached the stage where I expect to bring most of my coins to hell with me, especially b/c rather than paying 1$ in additional taxes to the state pimps I will starve in the gutter.

Being an US citizen sucks! Smiley ... you should all quit and move to another "crypto" state... just change your coin!!! Cheesy Cheesy

Greatest country on the fucking planet, cuck. Don't mess with Uncle Sam. Pay him his share or else he'll fuck you up.

Ain't got time to risk not playing by his rules.

EDIT: Somewhat related thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/6w5c0v/i_have_sold_over_4m_worth_of_bitcoin_how_to/

Too bad I don't believe in taxation. I would pay that 2% tax for NATO, another 1% for police/protection institution in that said country. And I would have a special heath insurance for growing limbs and other expensive stuff for when I'm old and rusty! Cheesy Cheesy  .. but anything else.. just should be removed from the existence of any government. Smiley

All Liberland needs to do is set up a solar grid array and an underground Bitcoin mining facility. Connect to main blockchain via satellite. Zero cost mining. Done.

Actually it is not at all and it shows how much you and the other centralisers misunderstand Bitcoin.

Bitmain has become a big fat, plump, centralised target. It is logical, and cheaper, to attack them than out-compete them. In fact, it is necessary for the good of the Bitcoin ecosystem that large centralised entities are attacked relentlessly and mercilessly, before governments co-opt or coerce them into exerting any form of control over the network. The sooner Bitmain is attacked and smashed into tiny decentralised pieces the better for everyone, even for jihan, it is for his own good, he will realise that eventually.
