Palms are itchy Lisk is currently doing this.....MOONSHOT....would be nice to see BTC keep up ratio wise to that right now why I hold coin...I never ever pick the right coin to sell ...thus I hold....hoarder I am.... but hey, BTC ...look at Lisk....(hint, hint) don't want them alts flying by you % wise right.....GO/GO/GO. (hoarding everything again has definitely been increased on my end. Why I won't sell Bitcoin Cash for all I know it will be a great alt) Paranoia ..the only way to moon shoot...

Being an US citizen sucks! ... you should all quit and move to another "crypto" state... just change your coin!!! All Liberland needs to do is set up a solar grid array and an underground Bitcoin mining facility. Connect to main blockchain via satellite. Zero cost mining. Done. https://liberland.org/en/main/Except for, you know, the solar panels and related infrastructure.

So...if I wanted to take the free cash I got from the fork and short it at full margin on Bitfinex, where would I set my margin to the highest level?

If I understand it correctly, you are planning to short an altcoin? I mean, not only sell, but margin short? I would not do it. Risky business. On the other hand, if you still hold a comparable amount of that altcoin it is safe to short it on margin as a hedge.

Which puts me where I was 3 weeks ago. I don't see it surviving much longer. Especially since we get another shitcoin in November that will be very similar.

Yes, if you margin short an amount that you can cover with the rest you might have on some paperwallets, and it goes up, you will be able to cover your short with your remaining coins. I am not sure what will happen with it... I still have around 50%. Decisions, decisions....

I see where you stand on this but why don't you simply sell it and get more bitcoins? You will not be where you were three weeks ago but you will have an increased btc stash. This is what I will do. No margin trading for me

Lombrozo should follow through and ignore Wu's lies, I have no idea how he could accomplish it though. Lomborzo could even 'kickstart/donate' to get funding and have enough within the hour. Everyone is tired of Bitmain.
Jeebus, that's infantile. Instead of pooling money to tear down Bitman, why don't you pool your money to outcompete them? Add to Bitcoin's security, rather than destroy it. So you want to create another big centralized player? Who's infantile now... You do realize Bitmain is making the miners/chips? Maybe stop using those chips is the only way to decentralize. Maybe switching over to mass produced cpu's is the answer...

That's something I have always wondered. Why heavily invested individuals/groups (those in the high tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands BTC) don't invest/create in a competing ASICS manufacturer?. I can understand that mining activity depends on other factors like cheap electricity, cheap maintenance labour, etc so Chineese pools will always have an advantage there. More so if there is any State support that we are not aware of. But they could compete in mining equiment development/manufacturing. I've read somewhere, probably in this thread, that the Chinese have spent more than 100 millions $ to get there.
