Breaking News:

According to BitcoinMeister the next friendly BTC fork is on the way called Bitcoin Gold.
Video info here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAukxlpwyHg

GPU mined bitcoin fork with POW change to GPU originating from China.
Competitor to BCH and maybe Etherium later.

Sold my BCH for a nice 17.2% dividend that was an easy call. This one might be a harder call. Could pull some interest away from ethereum once ethereum goes proof of stake.

Team behind the bitcoin gold project will implement replay protection and are pro core according to the video which is interesting.

Even if it is 'friendly' it's still not helpful.

And it also has the magic three letters of I C & O

I am not so sure about that. The more you have folks in China, Africa, North Korea or wherever creating random and shady forks the more it focuses draws peoples attention to who is doing responsible development that is thoroughly and openly vetted and who is staging hostile takeover attempts.

In the long run this kind of stuff will probably strengthen the position of the core developers.

I was happy to buy at $4300 and will now spend that profit to treat myself for today. Keep doing what you are doing bitcoin.

So the BCH devs are already talking about making changes to the code? Color me shocked.  Roll Eyes

Maybe it would help if they added segwit and limited the blocks to 1mb?  Possibly?    Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

"Friendly fork"... all forks are an attempted take-over.
There can be no doubt the will confuse the less technical people.
They steal the name and damage the Bitcoin brand.
As someone has said before, there were Alts, Spam and the next phase of Bitcoin attacks will be the forks.

Apart from us indirectly taking money from the foolish defectors, the main positive will be the strength built in Bitcoin when they all fail.

Yeah... I believe Smiley

I think there's a point where you reach peak forkage. If there's one every day fatigue will set in rapidly. Alts at least have the luxury of claiming to be something new.

Now have to wait for a serious dip... .

no dips straight to the unknown Wink

That really pisses me off. Just sold part of my gold stash and sitting on fiat that I cannot inject in BTC without serious risk... .

That nurse meme is not factually accurate since you can't carve a Bitcoin up into 10 decimal places, only 8....
That's 2025! They already added 6 decimal places (20 bits actually) with the GUF (great utility fork) in 2020, after the bitcoin price surged past 150k USD - roughly equivalent to 120k 2017 USD.
