I suggest we dump Dimon talk until something interesting happens - like if he gets full board at taxpayers expense.

Good Meuh6879, glad you are finally back! And that has been quick too. Yes, spam is back too and fees are going up as usual. We do need SegWit friendly txs so that everybody can start taking advantage of this improvement otherwise the network will clog during these days. The bitcoin protocol is under pressure from every given angle!

So it looks like $5426 was our low, we're moving up to ATH now hopefully or there is still a chance for relatively cheap coins soon: I think way too many people on tradingview make predictions based on charts and not considering the news (I make better predictions than some seniors there, which says a lot). In this case, the past high cannot be considered as it was literally truncated by the Chinese news. Maybe I am wrong, but I have the feeling we will go a bit higher this time

So $5000 to be exspected? $4500 if things turn worser? Looking at charts alone is not enough. The hashrate distribution between the Cash fork and Bitcoin would tell more about price discovery. I am worried that miners exercise this switching of their gear since end of august on a daily course.

Nobody understand what exactly happened. Puigdemont didn't declare independence in his speech and talked about suspension of the process and more "negotiations", so everyone (in all sides) was like WTF!? After the session ended, the political groups promoting independence signed a document (that wasn't voted nor referred to in the session) that seems to imply that independence is in fact declared. Very confussing. There is no chances because there are less riskes because there are many awarness so i will say that we should ignore facts because if we bring facts then it will destroy everything so we should say that we should ignore people and facts we should follow the things because it will be good for us so let's deal with facts and ignore the things.

So basically we're looking at a repeat of BCH. There will be a split, BTC will dump to make room for the new token/s, then the new token/s will slowly die, bleeding back into BTC. That the long and short of it?
Unfortunately, this fork, at its current state, is much more dangerous than BCH since the S2X devs have not enabled strong replay protection at this time. AFAIK, they briefly included some bullshit opt-out protection where people would have to include some dust transaction to a certain address; if they wanted the transaction to only be played on the BTC chain. (This would have effectively bloated the BTC chain) However, I believe even that BS has been yanked. I hope Garzik does the right thing and implements strong opt-in protection. If not, this may be a mess. Amazing how people don't want to discuss unpleasant things. When I've mentioned this few days ago: I was accused of spreading FUD almost immediately after that. My strong feeling we are approaching this fork not prepared enough to protect BTC, relaying on the fact that BCC was so easily wiped out of the picture.

People here maybe don't want to admit their fears, but @anonymint is making some headway on what might happen: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2259054.0note that 2x fork is irrelevant, or a mere blip to his theory

So we're still under $6000? Can't we go beyond or back? I don't like this much stability in bitcoin. That's so "unlike" bitcoin.

there's lots of impressive words and even more impressive supposition. who is anyone to know who 'whales' are and what their intentions are? and what's with the ongoing fear and deification of this popescu guy? as far as i can tell he's an unpleasant writer who owns a few thousand coins. things have moved on. the people who might have had majority influence once upon a time are now sidelined and yesterday's men.
