New measure to prevent account stealing have been integrated : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2282758.0
Nice move. I'm surprised such a security measure hasn't been implemented years ago, when the trade of valuable old accounts started to take off.

my hero account was stolen 5 days ago.
and i cant prove ownership as i didnt have a btc address linked to the account.
BUT i have the whole list of emails for the PMs i got since 2014, and its so obvious that the account is stolen just by looking at _javi_`s recent post (hey, i learnt to write in a language i cant even recognize, just the day when i changed my email and avatar!??! what a coincidence!!)

I've had friends with our situation....they got nowhere...w/o a private msg via a blockchain on your btc address you likely are screwed

hope I'm wrong...give it a shot...but don't get your hopes up

(sorry for your loss)

Good morning Bitcoinland.

We finally got enough of a dip to get me up off my ass and buy some more coin... currently $5220USD/$6525CAD (Bitcoinaverage). That's back up by more than a c-note since I bought this AM. Seems I caught pretty much the bottom again but I hope I didn't blow it by only spending half the fiat I'd earmarked for Bitcoin. I thought it might go lower so I held half back.

Meanwhile AltCash has taken an even worse beating... currently $318USD/$399CAD (Coinmarketcap).

Feels good to buy for the first time since September 15. Maybe I'll get to buy some more later today. Gotta keep an eye on the ticker.

Nice move Jimbo! Stupidly I cancelled a buy order thinking it would drop further. Oh well. Your coins are looking good with this new leg up.

Same here. I'm expecting sub 5k, with a possible weekend retracement.

It's starting to look like we both might have blown it. It's already rebounded by over $250 from the bottom.

Still, this could go either way. My cash and QR codes are ready just in case it goes back down.

edit: make that over $300

Where do you live?

Why Iceland?

A former constitutional republic situated between Canada and Mexico.

They actually jailed banksters after '08, remote enough to resist waves of eco/war refugees, geothermal power for mining and comfort, high levels of education and social cohesion, hawt hawt women, need I go on?

28K BTC were sold in bitfinex for the last 24 hours. This is nothing to do with bad news or the coming HF. At the same time the same amount was spent to pump BCH... The conclusions are clear.  Rojer Ver and JihaD Wu are emptying their BTC holdings for the last pathetic attempt to hold the BTC. Btw BCH miners can't support the pumps since with EDA miners are always getting the same profit even if the price drops to 1$.

It's not always the usual suspects. The most serene republic has probably been dumping for days.

May be. But I don't think anyone else but Ver and Wu pumped BCH.

I'm still buying. Then again, I don't own 350,000 BTC, nor the world's most significant Bitcoin mining ASIC manufacturer (i.e., my contribution to the rate is merely a blip at best).

Even shittier climate and geography than scandinavia and, uh, a rather inbred population. And those hot women are likely to be comparatively xenophobic.
