Some brave people in here shorting bitcoin. I fully expect a correction in the coming weeks, but I'd never have the balls to short BTC.

I think I might just sell soon and then buy back in at 5k.

Sometimes it helps to look at a log scale chart. Here is Bitstamp daily bitcoin log scale with a reasonable pitchfork drawn:



The pitchfork suggests we may reach roughly $8000 before a sharp correction down to about $5000 before new all time highs greater than $10,000 by year end. The sell off might occur during the fork drama and rather than the end of the world present just another buying opportunity.

Any chance we can see that chart extended to 2018?

Me too. But first see where it goes now, eventually convert a large part in fiat just before or after Nov. 15 fork?  And meanwhile, what happened to the "Gold" boys and their fork? Straight evaporated?

Free coins at forks aren't really free are they?

When it forks the value of the other will go down while the new one takes a bit away from it and then when you put it back into BTC then BTC will be back where it was before and the other coin goes down.  That's just my impression

I am getting paranoid that this fork is a system for whales to 'print more bitcoins' and might be used in the future... Like... Ours are too expensive so they make an add on...

Just that big shots joining at this time seems like a strange coincidence... But maybe I brainstorm too much
