do you guys know when the next antminer s9 will be available? the current stock is sold out and I can't find any dates. or do you know something about current or upcoming s9 alternatives?
No idea, but given who is selling them I'd wait for competition to come out. There was one company that was just about ready (forgot the name) from China and one that is currently in the research phase in Japan. I'd go with GPU mining some other coin until it's possible to avoid Bitmain though. I also read about competitors and forgot the names. One said they have a running product which is better then the s9 and a core dev somehow proved it. but I can't find it anymore... CCMF? I just found it again. The Chinese one is called DragonMint and ships in April: https://halongmining.com/shop/dragonmint-16t/The Japanese company is called GMO. I would personally wait for the Japanese ones just to make sure that DragonMint isn't somehow related to Jihan Wu (who could be anticipating a decline in Bitmain's sale due to his BCash garbage and attack on Bitcoin). In the meantime there are going to be enough profits to be made with altcoins and Bitcoin itself. I wouldn't even get miners for making money, but just to support the network and improve decentralization.

The other is a lovely idea. Bitmain is Bitmain because they actually churn their shit out.

Welp, taking a vacation from cash trading since kraken is unusable. Withdrew all assets. Damn shame for everyone involved, but there we are.

I'm totally fucked at Coinbase. Sitting on an obscene amount of fiat from a recent sale, but don't have access to my Funding/Withdrawal page. Something 'tarded like below is what I'm getting. Sheeeeeeit. I'm just not gonna use any exchange until things are running smoothly again. Would not be the least bit surprised over theft and locked accounts and other shit like that.

Yes, KNC Neptunes..... C

Meantime, looks like things are back to normal, where normal seems to mean 15k. That's ok but it would be nice if bitcoin did something.... :-)

I think If it continues like that sellers will move to the best exchanges, leaving bitstamp et al. with less and less volume This will probably be the real attack to bitcoin, the full centralization of exchanges (so, I see gemini and coinbase taking the lead soon)

Well... it did do something. Anyway... it is sad that probably common folk with not have time to buy in anymore. Maybe for pennies. First there will be most of the young people, then the old people will be slaves for the young and serve their every need and requirement to dig sh!t holes & stuff.

Sheeeeeeit. This a time delay exploit that the whales traders will be able to use again and again. They will shake people out, and while their fiat cash out is trapped in limbo, the whales will be able to move the market back up and fiat sitting in limbo won't be able to get back in.

Source : http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-12-09/crypto-cornucopia-part-4-without-it-youre-talking-mad-maxYet we just said that to clean up the market would discover 10%, 20%, 40% fake shares, fake business values, fake pension values, therefore fake GDP values, and fake GDP to Debt ratios, and therefore would perhaps lead to an accurate Debt to GDP of 140%, which would crash the U.S. dollar and possibly the nation.
Would a complete U.S. financial collapse lead to a nuclear war?
And it all goes back to fraud we didn’t stop 20 years ago. How do you solve the problem?
The only way out without collapse is to build an honest system parallel to the existing system and slowly transfer assets from the rotten, sinking ship to the new one.
The captains of the old ship may not like it, but look at the incentives. No one can tolerate the old ship except the pirate captain; even the crew, the stock traders, don’t want or control it any more.

Fortunately Coinbase is not that big of a player compared to the global trading volume

I seriously thought that 15% dip after 1000% gain this year was the end of cryptography.
I burned all of my private keys, opened up my server to telnet instead of ssh, stopped using a website if it was https instead of http and moved to a wooden house in middle of nowhere.

Source : http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-12-09/bitcoin-just-brilliant-wealth-redistribution-schemeA similar argument applies to the status-quo elite, who have greatly benefited from the corrupt system and see bitcoin as a risk to that system.
This group includes almost all government officials—especially central bankers—and politicians, as well as the private banking elite. They are incentivized to defend the old system at all costs, but would be smart to hedge their exposure. Some may be doing so in secret.
So these are the first intellectual hurdles to overcome: understanding that our current money system is severely flawed, and that to prosper and make progress, humanity needs an alternative.
To fully understand this, many people spend a few years researching history and economics away from mainstream educational propaganda.
