Right now bitfinex price is a lot higher than bitstamp.  What will it's price be like once they have $ on bitstamp?

This is gonna hurt when it ends but selling is never an option

Check the 2 hour charts.

We are coming down in 3...2...1...

What do you mean?

You just saw what I mean. China dropped 400 points in less than 10 minutes. Now let's see what happens. If it recovers from here I will be impressed. I expect we will be in correction mode for a least a day or so. But who knows?

Is BTCChina tanking or something? Last posted trade was 6 min ago @ 3420

It went from 3200 to 3600 within 1 hour.. going back to 3420 seems like only a minor correction and still a crazy 200 CNY increase from an hour earlier. Wouldn't be surprised if it cools down a bit more.

The value is irrelevant, the fact that bitcoinity is no longer getting trading information is what's important. Unless that's just a bitcoinity problem. Which it's not.

While it would hurt my heart, I would be fine with a return to $500 and hang out there for a few days/weeks.

Just a thought, but what if BtcChina's trading engine is responsible for the price distortion(fubar)....wouldn't that throw the market in to disarray?

Yeah, looks like volume is causing some lag @ BTCChina. Maybe a large sell off?

A few people have said that one reason why there might be such a rush to buy in China is the struggle to get money out of the country and to get USD. So the BTC is being used (in these cases) as a middle-man trading currency.

So I'm wondering which exchange would be the best place to sell to USD and transfer back out to a china friendly bank account ?

Ironically for everyone in the states I'm actually wondering if Hong Kong based gox is the place.
Maybe bit stamp though ?

Or would they not need to sell through an exchange ?
