Calling it: +500$/BTC on Gox by the end of this week.
Hate (or maybe not  Grin) to say I told you so.
Now, where do we stop on next Sunday evening ?

Danger: Curving upward on the log chart. If we don't get a correction soon this could be the final blow-off to quadruple digits then crash.

Someone please STOP THIS THING Grin

Look at this chart, and compare the $10->$266->$100 period from earlier this year with the 2011-February through 2011-April time period: http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/mtgoxUSD#igDailyztgSzm1g7zm2g25zl

I'd post a chart with those two regions circled, but my MSPaint skills aren't good enough.

I'm comparing it to the month of March 2013, now just entering April. It's so close to an exact match for the past 30 days that it's uncanny. That suggests another doubling+ in a week then crash (possibly).

If we do a repeat of 2011 then God help us.

Not if. When.

I'd say it is safe to sell some here temporarily. At the very least you will get a correction to this level (or lower) if not the crash. Btc has entered full parabolic mania mode, it has not tested the short daily ema since $280 and has not tested the long daily ema since $175. On gox it takes 2000btc to drop the price 20% to $500.

What's funny is that from what I can tell, most of the selling that's going on is being done at Gox.

Which just means these people are just going to have to turn around and buy back their coin anyways if they ever want their money back.

It's never time to sell. I don't get why anyone sells anyway, bitcoin IS a payment system, why switch over to a defunct broken fiat system while we can have something that's 10 times better?

Depends on so many factors. I think, first of all, you decide whether you have already had your maximum number of bitcoins or are still accumulating.

If accumulating, buy all the time and especially on dips. Now is not a 'dip', but it still qualifies for 'all the time'.

If divesting, sell on peaks. If you are sitting on good gains, it might be good to start selling already. Sell a total of 20% in this peak that we will be having soon.

Whether it is a peak or a dip, construct a rising exponential trendline and follow it.

Do not swing-trade or daytrade unless you know. I don't know any successful bitcoiners who daytrade.

daytrading works on high volatility days when crashes and corrections occur. If the price is making 15%+ swings, this will give you enough room to pay your commissions and have a margin of error to make mistakes and still profit.
