its looking good! the rally should be able to continue. but a return to the choo choo MOFO trendline might be in order, the double top is consering. Thanks for that! If you had said 'single digits by Friday' I would have crawled in my hole and cried. lol, no way. worst case, we will test support at 800-600 ish, but initial support at previous resistances looks good to me, so i think UP. I only just realised I could login by clicking the "Log In" box. Good to be back :-)
So, who else bought at 800? I was a big seller at 800 all my friends handed me their bitcoins. i've been writing a lot of checks. lol. but thats done now, so i see no reason not to continue the rally to 3,000$ You see no reason to get to $3000? *ops i mean, i see no reason not to continue the rally to 3,000$ you scared?

I set my target at 3000$ for various reasons.

it has popped twice, one from $900 to 500.. and just yesterday from $1200 to $800. why do people not see this? it was a crash, but it inevitably rebounded.

It hasn't (fully) rebounded yet.

thats just too fast tho, they are called bear traps once the bubble pops for real, we will have a few months of consolidation at low prices( like 50% lower than the ATH), much like the bubble pop from 266, only longer. its going to take longer, because the market is growing and its taking more and more Capital to move the market either way.

As much as I think you are being rational about this. I doubt it is going to stay flat for months at this point. Looking at the growth of wallets in the various providers as well as the room to grow on bitpay (their volume was tiny based on where they will get with all the new shopping integrations) we are still in the hot seat. I was very happy to see steam getting blown off though. We were in dire need. If we can keep venting off pressure we will find our new center (much higher it seems).

I bet your guess is right... I also bet part of the run up was people holding/retaining/buying in preparation for black friday.

I strongly believe that nothing not even bitcoin can simply go up forever. but ya, I can't see into the future, anyone guess is as good as mine.

This is why it is absolutely fascinating to watch and help grow this thing in my own little ways. Humble and proud to be part of it. 3k does seem like a pretty big hurdle and nothing grows forever (heat death of the universe is a bitch :-)). That said, some of the thinking is that with enough money/liquidity it will become highly valued by those who want to move millions/billions around. I can't see it solving that problem at 3k when a thousand coins can cause a big drop at 1k.

The value looks like a cork being pushed under the surface at $1000 and then bobbing up and down on Bitstamp.

I am trying to convince my self that we will see the price only going up but I fail to back my thoughts with real facts, it looks like we are loosing support and bringing the price under $1000 wont be that hard

I see the same thing. About twice as much volume for sellers than for buyers.
The thing about this is that we know bitcoin can supply fireworks in velocity.
edit: Interesting that gox and cny are sliding sidewise while stamp is declining slightly.

Judging by the last couple of days - the chance of it staying flat exactly where it is now is probably not a safe bet. That said - with such massive movements price has proved pretty resilient and seems to favor a default level over 1000.... I won't bet on it, and it's been pretty wild (and will continue to fluctuate) but it may have found a level - it could have been anywhere with the swings we've seen, but I can neither see 500 or 2000 right now. The only thing I would venture is that my hunch is, once the market thinks a level has been reached, it will start to grow again. Someone already quoted Nietzsche: 'That which does not kill me, makes me strong' I think this applies - if it was going to hit the floor, it probably would have done by now - so, perversely, any stability around a market comfort with a value in a day or so's time, will produce growth from that point.

You're such a bear. Of course it'll go up forever. I predict by the end of this century then entire world economy will be run on a single bitcoin.

I predict by the end of this century then entire world economy will be run on a single bitcoin. as a deflationary currency it either increases in value or disappears from this stage. Forever seems a very long time, but current and past trends seem to insist on an upward trajectory from here, regardless of blips and dips. Ccmf.
