Ant Financial (Jack Ma) buys the buggered remnants of Bitmain (Antminer) when?
There can only be one Ant.

Man that picture of Bitmain's repair facility looks really bleak. Yuck.

Prediction time? OK - I will have a pop at it:
This dip seems pretty much right on time; mid January. It's been the lowest price point of the past four years, except for last year, which was coming down from the ATH, just like 2014 was.
Therefore, if history repeats itself the current few days (if not now, then no more than over the next three or four days) will be the lowest Bitcoin price of this year. We are if anything a day or two ahead of schedule.
DYOR - but now is quite possibly the last chance to buy this low, this year.
And if we ARE in 2015 again... (nonsensical extrapolation warning) then:
Around 6,000 in early July, then dip in August to slightly sub 5K
Pushing over 11K in November
Then finishing the year a little lower, but over 9K - ready for the 2020 bull run from that base level.
Of course this is almost certainly wrong, but if this IS the January dip which has been uncannily in mid-Jan (12/12/14 in the past) rather too often, then it is indeed time to buy.
As of now I am scaling back in with everything the tax man isn't lifting from me, which isn't as bad as I feared, thankfully.

I am the opposite, but not because of BTC... because of US stocks trading. Since 2016 I've been buying every 5%-15% dip in the stocks, mostly Nvidia, selling at every 25 points of new ATHs. Big success which I then traded for some BTC this summer through fall. I tried to buy the falling knife through October-November again... but... let's say I was lucky to hold a short in AMD... still ouch! Nobody cares but I stayed out of the market for a week or two and then bought back in at 135$ and 125$ ... was also waiting for 115$ and 105$ but it didn't reach... maybe at the end of January?

News update from the forum outside the WO: It's a shitstorm out there! Theymos upended the whole DT system and people are raging in the streets. Blood, everywhere. Must be the root cause of the dump.

Another attack on Electrum
Warning: there is an ongoing phishing attack against Electrum users, where rogue servers ask users to install bitcoin-stealing malware. We released version 3.3.2, which mitigates the attack. See > https://twitter.com/ElectrumWallet/status/1083334662427164672

If they manage to exchange $10 billion at a price of $4000: $10,000,000,000 / $4,000 = 2,500,000 bitcoin that's a big wallet

+1 (this merit thing is starting to get annoying for WO leechers) When’s the next sMerit air drop for normal posters, not Merit Sources? I like to spread my seed but I’ve been dry for ages. I doubt that there is going to be any additional membership-wide smerit air drop at any time in the near future. Such an airdrop would not make much sense in the scheme of the incentives that are being attempted with the current smerit implementation - because a membership-wide airdrop would likely incentivize the kind of behavior that is attempting to be regulated through the use of smerit sources, and some attempts at a degree of smerit scarcity. But receive 2 and then you can give one. Gives merit a half life (aside from the sources I suppose) Maybe let people give what they get and have a more closed pool instead. In the previous post, I also recommended listening to Rick Wakeman, nothing , neither a comment, nor an opinion of the disc. Only PacMan gif matters. If you have merits, you give merits, but honestly I am the same person with merits or without merits, but if I want to rise in rank I am obliged to earn merits, are the rules of the forum. I suppose if you have the rank and you have merits, you see it with a different perspective.

https://btcmanager.com/keplerk-plans-to-sell-bitcoin-in-6500-stores-by-february/I signed up on their site keplerk.com . What I don't like is that they ask for your phone number, a passport photo and a second proof of ID like your driver's licence. Anyway, this a great thing for adoption. I guess I'll be buying BTC at my local tobacconist everytime I got some spare change. Simple, easy to do. "On January 8, 2019, the first six tobacco stores in France began selling bitcoin as a result of a deal inked with Keplerk, a French fintech company that intends to expand the sale of bitcoin to 6,500 more stores by February."

How is this not the same attack as before? Is there something I'm missing or is it just that there is a new software mitigating it now. Electrum twitter with today date. I can not tell you more, I do not use Electrum. Maybe they are repeating the same attack.
