My first experience with poker in Las Vegas many years ago:

Got to a machine, inserted 25c (or was it a 25c token?).
First hand-royal flush, instantaneous win of $250, and it would have been 10K if I wagered $1 instead of a quarter.
Nice...although apart from risky stocks and btc, I am not really a gambling person, so I spent those $250 on dinners, etc., did not try to take down the "house".

poker ain't not about luck only, of course there are lucky moments etc....
good you didn't try to take down the house

GG sir

Sure, and since I had no experience playing it, I did not try further (after a win).
Same with stock market and btc.
If you got a solid long position, it is typically better to leave it alone.
Trading never worked for me in stocks with the exception of the first year or two, which was probably pure beginners luck plus a raging bull market.

GOOD the fear is there

Banks in India are now saying they will now close customers' accounts if they deal in cryptocurrencies.

These legacy institutions fear what they can't control, but people should be allowed to do whatever they want with their wealth.

we can approximate the average price paid by people that have BTC now

I made it about this far into it(lies, I looked at the whole thing) before losing interest..   Sounds like another smallcoinerTM who bought the top. /s

From a purely theoretical view point, I applaud the energy put into trying to craft a reasonable fundamental metric for calculating bitcoins price. The reality is that we are still in a speculative market and I feel that is what will drive the price action for a considerable time to come.

Another good read here HM...though I detest factual errors, especially within the first paragraph. Is proof reading not a thing anymore?

In your opinion, what are the odds that CSW is Satoshi?

I would be interested in you stating in clear terms what probability you consider this to be true?  I appreciate that certain things may be unknowable with present knowledge, but that is why we assign probabilities.

So please tell us what is your probability that CSW is Satoshi.

I dunno. Maybe one in twenty? In fifty?

Hard to place odds on something in which most of the variables are not available to be seen.

Disagree with the bottom being in as well. The arguments and metrics he provides indicate that we could still see another leg down as well, which implies wishful thinking on his side to me.

The MVRV argument is solid though, and that is indeed expected to play out that way. Pretty sure that nobody is surprised by the notion that volatility will decrease with appreciating market capitalization though.

Didn’t use the whiskey tasting set yet, but gonna try already one
Which one to take
@BTCMILIONAIRE ??
Probably late, but I'd go with Glenfiddich or Macallan. The former is pretty smooth and easy to get into.

dammit I chivas regalt that whiskey, and still not used to it, it came in a normal glass with a small glass with ice on the side
just drunk it out of the glass with no ice
drunk it slow kept it a few seconds in the mouth.... ( tasted better as the first time) curious for the next one Cheesy
doing my best with this

Should be somewhat similar to Glenfiddich, in the sense that scotches from Speyside are usually smoother than others. Haven't tried that one myself yet. In general, there are a truckload of different flavour profiles though, so trying different ones each time until you get a clearer picture isn't a bad idea. Would definitely revisit ones that I've dismissed at any point as my palette develops though.

Ok.  So in broad brush strokes you would place the odds of CSW being Satoshi between 2 - 5%, which is “highly unlikely” in statistical terms.

Thank you that’s helpful

All the news of advances for Bitcoin are nice.

But in LN some actors are entering the game ...,of dubious origin, banks, institutions, startups, supported by the same. Roll Eyes

This as news is fine, you do not have the coins immobilized in LN waiting.

Crypto payment platform Bitrefill has launched Thor, a service that allows customers to open Lightning channels on demand. Thor will connect to Bitrefill's node on the Lightning Network, allowing users to receive Lightning payments whether they have bitcoin loaded into their Lightning wallets or not.

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/bitrefill-channel-opening-service-makes-accepting-lightning-payments-easy/

I wouldn't worry about banks becoming major LN hubs anytime soon.

r0ach always posts his chart with Goldman Sachs, Chase, etc. as major LN hubs. What he doesn't tell you is that Theymos alone has more BTC than Goldman Sachs.

I can foresee an alternative scenario where the liquidity of LN is provided by all the cypherpunks, computer nerds, and libertarians who mined or bought most of the coins.

sorry for being clumsy, but i uploaded the hat jpg file, yet it shows the original instead.
maybe the hat image actually consists of two, but they are not merged, or it is a silly explanation?

I uploaded the right thing, so I'll just wait.
Thanks again.
