CoinGecko 2018 Crypto Report
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5098521.0

It's not just about BTC. Here is the full report :
https://bit.ly/2018CoinGeckoReport

"Among the top 5 cryptoassets, Bitcoin Cash saw the worst loss where its price fell by 93%. We have a section (pages 39-42) looking deeper into the Bitcoin Cash split that caused this massive fall in value.
...
As the market fell throughout 2018, we saw a “flight-to-safety” towards Bitcoin. Market dominance for Bitcoin went from 40% to above 55% by the end of the year. We also saw a stablecoin, Tether ending the year as one of the top 10 cryptoasset by market capitalization, ending the year as the 7th largest cryptoasset."

Here's the rare and unusual, Haiku Limerick!

There was a new coin,
named Grin. Seems like a real sin.
I don't think I'll join.

I am starting to believe that December 2017 might have been properly labelled as a "blow off top"; however, I still am inclined to believe that shit coins are coming along for at least one more btc pumpening, so in other words, the shit coins do not have to die nor be considerably demolished as a condition precedent for another BTC pumpening.  That is my current tentative thinking, for whatever that is worth?

Hey JayJuanGee, Do you think most alts need to be destroyed so the mainstream can trust Bitcoin? I tend to think most alts need to be eliminated for this to happen. At a minimum 95-98% need to go away. You could be right they go on one more ride with Bitcoin. There is so much noise in the space, that being said it is good to see innovation. Much of the innovation could be rolled into Bitcoin if it were deemed useful. Any thoughts?

What will the guess be, the price of a grin at the end of March?
If so, I predict 25 US cents.

But you will have to give the price to someone else since i have no frecking clue how to accept and store a grin.

unfortunately the second line only has six syllables and should have seven.
otherwise it seems rather good, with semi-rhymes, alliteration and a hint at a natural theme ('green'), an essential feature which most people seem not to be bothered about

IMHO, the mimblewimble (spelling?) is a protocol...and grin coin has this as its ONLY angle for a coin. What happens when a mess of altcoins, that have watched 95% or whatever

value decrease..and are having a pity party and say wtf...and add mimblewimble(spelling?) to their coin that say has other angles and hooks in their protocol besides just the grin

mimblewimble protocal? Would not grin, as a 1 coin wonder, not be lost in the shuffle of other altcoins also getting the protocol?

Also this may be the kiss of death on grin coin

it has been out 2 days or so ..and they are making an ASIC Smiley
