As i said before more and more people know about it and know that the halvening will lead to a higher price, so its kind of a safe bet that bitcoin will be higher 1 year or 2 years from now. Why not join now little by little.
So its not only crazy speculative money thats flowing in bitcoin also some serious investment money. From normal hard working folks, people with lots of money, from hedge fonds, from institutions.

then there is venuzuela with mile high inflation rates, a global stock market that has lost its momentum, Brexit, Bakkt, negative interest rates

Again in Singapore today.
And once more I'm disappointed by the Bitcoin scene. I tried to find some places that are listed on coinmap and that were supposed to accept BTC as payment but none of them exists anymore.
Maybe they got rich and closed because of all the BTC they received... or maybe not.
Anyway, there is one place I found in the Arab district. It's a Cafe called "Bistrot Mademoiselle" and the owner... is French.



His place doesn't accept Bitcoin as payment but he does have an ATM, a Lamassu :



As you can see, the price of Bitcoin today is 5,950 Singapore Dollars which is roughly $4,070.
When I asked the owner if some customers used the machine, he said that quite a few did. I told him I was surprised but he insisted.
The machine is a one-way ATM, it only sells BTC, it doesn't buy it.

your on the travel a lot i see, and always on the look for french....? be happy your away from them its a joke of-course cause you have proven to be a very kind/helpfull french yourself, btw i don't hate them, but when you visit french resto or social places then yeah, they can have some rude/arrogant attitude .... probably you know that better then me

also on my holiday i met some people from Singapore... early 30'ers and i asked them about the BTC scene over there.... it was like they never heard from it before and not much was going on with BTC over there....

as we see we are soooooooo early that i feel almost BAD that i'm so lucky to be in BTC for over some years now

Is someone here with a knowledge to reconstruct Satoshi's paper?
I am simply curious since I know the general outline, but probably wouldn't be able to properly formulate it.

I think we would have enough to go on (without looking at the paper):

• SHA 256 / Hashing
• Proof of work
• Difficulty retargeting
• 21 million cap, 100 million sats, halving every 4 years
• Miners to bundle transactions from mem pool, blocksize cap
• Blockchain / timechain / merkle trees
• Public key / private key addresses, sign to send
• validate UTXOs as unspent

One thing I don’t understand is how Bitcoin achieves consensus on time

While these do mostly describe bitcoin's protocol and terminology today, not all parts of the list were in the whitepaper.

Notably the blocksize cap, and especially the 21mil cap.

Idiots who use the whitepaper as a bible may yet pounce on this latter just as they pounced on the blocksize element.

Satoshi could've really made a very complex whitepaper, but it's interesting that he chose to keep it extremely simple by not including any difficult stuff.
