Winnebago, think big ass yank caravan

usually only 6 tires, so I'm not 100% what's up with that

Yeah, its got a tag axle.

...but 450 ft⋅lb is a lot of torque even for a winnebago... maybe he's got one of these?

Haha, I wish! Smiley

I'd link a shot but thats too much opsec even for a pseudo.

Np..I got you covered...I am sure you OpSec is fine.   Wink  Tag axle is a necessity on these pushers with the big diesels in the back. Nice rides..but I have always preferred a fifth wheel or pull trailer. Being able to drop the "house" at a moments notice and explore or run to town is vital to my sanity. I know a few who have big pushers and they have the nice tow packages and and all the bells and whistles..its just not for me.

Some are even more bold and could give a ratts ass about opsec and are even blatant about it.

I do try to keep my mobile mining operation as low key as possible however.  ymmv.

Do not be so sure. Even "rich" people get bored I would think.

There's a cataclysm coming to mankind and it is provably anthropogenic.

Released into the wild ten short years ago, Bitcoin will obliterate today's failing governing systems of liberal democracy, central banking and nation-statism. There being no way of 'stopping' Bitcoin, pure capitalism and individual sovereignty will soon enough reign over the Earth.

However, financial, and therefore manufacturing and logistics systems will break down completely unless the powers that be hand over to the Bitcoin Hodlers unreservedly.

imho cultural pessimism is a historical constant. there always were times when everyone was expecting the world to end. they were always wrong and somewhat sometimes a bit right. let´s take the Fin de Siècle guys around 1900 as an example. that was pure cultural pessimism, they expected the end. they were wrong. but the following WW1 and WW2 were apocalyptic. and it was the liberal democracies that "saved" the western civilization. it was the nationalists and extremists that almost brought it to an end.

It could be true that a failing global financial system could boost bitcoin. if it creates a crisis as serious as the one during the beginning of the 20th century I am not sure if a risky asset like bitcoin will get attention of panic struck financial elite. If no big crisis will happen the chances of bitcoin to become adopted by the masses are equally high or even higher.

The world did end many times. First time was in ancient mesopotamia. They were the most advanced people in the world at the time, in the area we now call the middle east and egypt. They communicated, they traded, they had a high culture with laws and writing and a central government and everything else we have today except modern technology. And then they collapsed.

Again with the romans, we all know about them.

A number of other similar cases throughout history http://people.uncw.edu/kozloffm/glubb.pdf

In the past century it happened with greater frequency, brought about by modern technology. Best known examples being the soviets and chinese. Special mention to cambodia for murdering a full third of its people.

And it is happening again. Brexit, the overreach of the NZ government, sweden losing part of their land to the muslims they themselves invited, france sending in soldiers against protesters, the kerfuffle over the Wall, unsustainable fertility rate and an economy on the brink of collapse, it's all just symptoms. Only this time it's damn near global. We are looking at a potential end of what we currently call civilization.

Forget normal wars. Even world wars, they are constructive. It's when we turn on our own that things get really bad.

guys, I need some help to create a BIG betting game together with our merit superstar micgoossens!

dear forum members,

I would like to start a betting game within this forum. a simple price prediction game about the price of btc end of the year. whoever wants to participate needs to pay some fraction of btc. winning bet takes it all. usually an escrow would be needed to collect the btc of the participants and later pays out to the winner. but since btc is programmable money I rather not rely on an escrow but on a smart contract that:

-controls the btc address that the betting game participants are using to pay their fee
-recognizes what the price is on a certain exchange at a certain time (bitstamp $ price on dec 31st 2019)
-recognizes which bet is closest to actual price
-transfers the btc to the winner automatically

is that possible? if yes, how complicated? whom can i ask to write it? how can I be sure the programmer is not scamming me/us?

plan is to make it as expensive as 0.1 btc to place a bet. for those who don´t want to risk that much it is allowed to for a pool (for example 10 members pay 0.01 and form a pool that can place a bet) my aim is 50 bets minimum, so the winner will collect 5 btc.

thank you  Smiley

bitcoin is the worst coin for security. A hacker needs a billion years, if only one address with money is on the blockchain, which you need to find roughly fingering private keys. And if a billion people already have addresses there, the task is facilitated by a billion times up to 1 year. And if he has not one, but 12 computers work, then up to a month. And if he is not alone hacker, then even more increases the likelihood that will be stolen. Therefore, never store the entire Deposit on one address, especially bitcoin.

More than way off this dude understands nothing about encryption.

He does understand nothing about anything.

That being said, it is a good idea to split your stash onto several addresses preferably unrelated (different HD seed)... but for other reasons.

Aaron Brown says Bitcoin boom pushed crypto forward 3 to 5 years

The value of cryptocurrencies has fallen eightfold last year. What silver-lining might be here besides the fact that it pushed the speculators away?

“That’s a silly way to look at it. Crypto prices today are about where they were in September 2017. The run-up and crash pulled in about $20 billion in investor funding. Some of it was stolen or frittered away, but most went to support, and is still supporting, useful development. It did a lot to clarify legal and regulatory issues, and it pulled in a lot of financial institutions. It raised public awareness and stimulated a lot of developer ideas. The boom pushed crypto forward three to five years in my estimation.

The boom without the crash would have put too little selection pressure on ideas, like the Internet from about 1998 to 2000, with really stupid ideas wasting billions of investor dollars and enriching frauds and idiots, giving them platforms to teach nonsense. Crypto would have been flooded with opportunists seeking quick money rather than thoughtful and talented developers with ideological convictions. Regulators and politicians would have fought to get their shares (or what they considered their shares) of the bounty, to the detriment of crypto. None of this would have killed crypto, any more than it killed the Internet, but the price of 1998 – 2000 was twice as many years (2000 – 2006) of obstruction and trouble, and the extra funds raised in 1998 – 2000 were not spent nearly as productively as the funds raised from 1995 – 1998.”

In my opinion, quite sensible the article, but without Bitcoin none of this would have happened.
