So is the general consensus that Gox is insolvent and fiat obligations will be more likely honored than BTC obligations? Or are Goxers simply speculating that the price will go lower?
And does the current price on the other exchanges assume Gox is solvent and will eventually recover? I believe this is the case.

It seems like people are now able to withdraw BTC from both Bitstamp and Btc-e, multiple posters now confirming that they have done so.
Is this officially confirmed now?
i haven't heard anything you'd think stamps would write up an update.... maybe tomorrow they will make it official?

Poor Mt.Gox, close to its low again.
i hadn't looked at the gox chart in a while, my god does it ever look ugly That's a glimpse of the future @ stamp Sub 500$ coins are in a few days overpriced. Poor souls that bought too high. Posts like this are useless with nothing to back them up.

lol probably but the funny thing is, they probably have the bitcoin stamps and btc-e where both affected as well; this leads me to believe MtGox didn't stop the BTC withdrawal just because they don't have the funds... they are probably telling mostly the truth so when they fix up the mess and BTC withdrawal are brought back online suddenly everyone is holding fiat and the only way out is BTC

Posts like this are useless with nothing to back them up. Gox dragged the market kicking and screaming down to a "stable" $650. Assuming Gox continues to slide, it isn't unreasonable to expect the market to be dragged down yet again .. especially if it turns out that Gox is insolvent.

If that's true... Can we expect big withdraws from stamp? I'm sure many will move their btc back to their safe wallets in case that error repeats... At least I will. I'm leaving my trading stash on bitstamp, ready for a spike, just in case gox starts paying out and the scramble to buy coins goes mental.

I believe that Jorge is on the right track with his analysis of the Chinese bitcoin markets. Not sure if the Chinese Slumber pattern is going to point us in the right direction, but time will tell.
If what Jorge conjectures about the influence of the Chinese markets on the global price of XBT is correct, then I should be paying much more attention to their market moves. I only occasionally look at the Huoboi market, and have no entry point to the Chinese troll boxes (if any exist), so I’m a little lost. I did look at the Chinese sub-forum here, lol. Lotsa luck there OG!
Are there any regulars here who read the Chinese forum? If you are one, would you care to post updates for us?
As an aside: If someone with my brain power just now figured this out, then regular brains got it at least two months ago, the smart ones had it nailed at least six months ago, and the movers/shakers got it over a year ago. Sigh.
So not fast. Much no good. Such wow not. And other stupid ways to say what a dipshit I am.

If you look at the comments he says that Bitcoin mining will use more electricity than the whole of Germany in a few years Maybe it's time to spawn SunCoin. All SunCoin miners must be registered to ensure rigs run only on solar power. SunCoinLicense registration takes place, of course, in New York, USA. All mining transactions go toward burying cloned dinosaurs deep underground to replenish oil reserves. LOL http://solarcoin.org/

New announcement that Gox expects the problem to be fixed by early next week. Same announcement a month later. Then two months later. Then every 6 months.

Please clarify what you mean by "work." (of a machine or system) operate or function, esp. properly or effectively. (part of this would include Bitcoin withdrawals)
