Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Like Hairy said, don't short bull markets.
Indeed, I should stop thinking I can predict the short-term movements.  Big picture everything is dandy, I am just greedy because I want to increase my coin stash, and at times end up archieving the opposite....

PS: Mic, thanks for letting me know I have a new hat. And obviously thanks to xhomerx for making the hat  Cheesy

Like Hairy said, don't short bull markets.

It can work pretty well with proper risk management.

Just visualize:

The range we traded in the last 4 weeks was between 9100 and 7400.

Range trading can be visualized with the help of boundaries(Bollinger band indicator).
Short top, buy the dip.
Never try to catch the max and min, just swim with the flow(price action).

Just my 2 cents Smiley

In other news: interesting discussion on facebookcoin vs bitcoin:
https://www.barrons.com/articles/what-facebooks-cryptocurrency-push-means-51560539185

I agree with the following:
Quote
“There’s just not any innovation in it,” says Gabor Gurbacs, director of digital asset strategy at VanEck/MVIS. “It’s just Silicon Valley’s ongoing attempt to take bank profits from the financial services industry to Silicon Valley.”

In addition:
Quote
A spokeswoman for the Senate Banking Committee, which sent Facebook a letter last month with questions about the service, said Facebook has not yet responded to its questions.

I don't see how anyone can tolerate a single company non-public pseudo cryptocurrency.
Apart from being introduced by an entity with 2.4 bil users, it is basically the worse of both worlds (crypto and fiat).

Taken at face value (pegged to a fiat basket), it can literally destabilize dozens of smaller local currencies because given a choice, NOBODY will conduct in them vs some combo of main currencies.

I myself like the '$10 million dollars' to run a NODE offer to major corporations and pegged to 'many' currencies, not just the USA dollar. Talk about wanting nothing

but 'control' indeed!

https://bitcoinist.com/visa-paypal-10-million-run-facebook-coin-node/'

sheesh, it is like GAW and Paycoin 'reborn' Sad

I think that trading the price range can work, until it doesn't.

I don't sell enough quantity of BTC to care if my sell order ends up getting left behind with an inability to buy back.
