There are a lot of use case where I can give up a little of privacy for convenience

If you're OK with that, then you can use the credit card that you already have and:
 - Get x% back
 - Use your ordinary fiat currency instead of a weird amalgamation
 - Have your payment accepted at pretty much every retailer on earth

There's a huge market for KYC payments, but it's already filled by credit cards etc. I see zero market for Facebook's KYC cryptocurrency: it's the worst of all worlds.

I cannot send Money from my credit Card to my young son, or I cannot send to an unbanked person.

...

I don't understand how libra will help the unbanked if they have to go to a bank or money exchange to buy it with cash. Surely all banks and money exchanges will want to see ID like a passport. How can the unbanked get a passport with some earning less than $2 USD per day?

Even if money exchanges will do business without a passport facebook is demanding a passport scan for KYC.

One of the aims of the project is to help the 1.7 billion people around the world who don't have bank accounts access a stable currency and financial services.

Quote
But Libra will still face a hurdle to get widely adopted.

To get Libra, users will need to go to their local bank or money exchange to trade local currency for it.

If Libra is set to be a stable coin then why is it even a topic of conversation, why’s it being reported on so much?
Nobody is going to make any money from it apart from Zuckerberg, pointless waste of time.

I don't want to sound blasphemous, but: 1 Libra= 1 Libra

If I  am unbanked somewhere in the world, and I am able to receive and spend Libra without touching FIAT, because everyone can send and receive Libra, why should I convert it to my Local even shittier FIAT currency? I can stay inside libra forever.

Yes: this is premature, but this is the final outcome od 2.7 Billions users.

Enforced KYC and insured against hacks.

Thats the Libra website if someone is wondering.

What do I need to get started?

When Calibra is available, you will need a government-issued ID to sign up for an account. Identity verification is important to comply with laws and prevent fraud, so you know people are who they say they are.

Is Calibra available in my country? What countries is Calibra available in?

Our goal is to make Calibra available to everyone, anywhere in the world. We are working to bring Calibra to as many countries as possible, as soon as we can.

LOL. This shitcoin is DOA.

They aren't wrong though. It can not become a sovereign currency as it is centralized garbage by a company. They can call it permissioned all they want, it's worthless. The Libra garbage absolutely does not need blockchain in any way, but there will be many gullible kool-aid drinkers falling for this scam.

In other words, just like the Bitcoin scam which utilizes non-fungible tokens with transaction validators being designed to centralize resulting in a permissioned ledger scam whose only possible endgame evolution is an exact replica of the Chinese social credit score system.  Your post scores 1 out of 10 swastikas.

So libra will use investor and user funds to buy low risk assets like securities and debts.

Interest from above will pay investor dividends and ongoing expenses.

They are reinventing the Tether scam. A crypto pegged to FIAT. Nothing to see here.

I would pump and dump the shit out of it if it wasn't 1:1 with USD

But one difference with Tether is that Tether is not a scam.  Tether is actually used (and that is why tether get's so much hate in the media, including gov'ts and financial institutions), as contrasted with the vast majority of the other allegedly "stable" coins.

If something like that doesn't, society will collapse anyway. Everything that FB has ever built is cancer to us.
