Introducing the Spent Output Profit Ratio (SOPR)
The SOPR a very simple indicator. It’s calculated from spent outputs. It’s the realized value (USD) divided by the value at creation (USD) of the output. Or simply: price sold / price paid.
When SOPR > 1, it means that the owners of the spent outputs are in profit at the time of the transaction; otherwise, they are at a loss
By plotting the SOPR of all spent outputs combined, aggregated by the day in which they were spent (using blockchain date), the graph can be produced

When SOPR > 1, it means that the owners of the spent outputs got profit from the operation. Otherwise, losses. The bull market seems to reject SOPR below 1, and the bear market to reject SOPR above 1.

A negative outcome for iFinex — the parent company of Bitfinex, could potentially open the exchange and Tether up to more lawsuits. The NYAG is accusing Bitfinex of covering up $850 million in client losses.

Exactly! Same here: $20-25k doesn't sound fun anymore.... I guess some $90-120k could make me sell some $ of my stash though (today). If we're talking about 2021 then I guess this number will go even further up...

I read somewhere that CSW has in his possession a wallet belonging to Satoshi or one of his close friends (can't remember the details). He is currently using a huge computer farm to brute-force it open and get hold of the private key. His friend, pedophile Calvin Ayre is funding and helping him do it.

I wonder what will happen if they manage to crack that wallet. CSW will be able to "prove" he's Satoshi by signing a message using the cracked private key.

Definitely difficult to understand how a kind of "infinite" block size brings bitcoin "back" to its roots.

One thing that is interesting is to have some of these dumbass approaches (or experimentations by scam artists) to show through practice what NOT to do.

If Bitcoin (BTC) had infinite block size, it would be littered with near-infinitely-sized spam attacks, and the worst part is that all this garbage would have to be preserved forever as part of the blockchain, forever filling up TB upon TB of storage space... There's a reason why Satoshi included the 1 MB cap in the code.

The problem is that inexperienced programmers tend to prefer the "bigger is better" approach, failing to foresee its side-effects. Fortunately, they are not in control of Bitcoin.

Major European crypto exchange Bitstamp has partnered with digital asset brokerage BCB Group to enable direct transfers in British pounds sterling (GBP).

Judge Punts on Decision in NYAG Case Against Bitfinex and Tether

On Monday, New York Supreme Court Judge Joel M. Cohen said he needed more time to make a final decision on whether to dismiss the NYAG’s case entirely, or rule the other way and reject Bitfinex and Tether’s motion to dismiss. As such, a preliminary injunction he filed in May will be extended, probably for 90 days.

“The idea is to keep things where they are until the decision of this motion, so the decision is to extend the stay and … extend the injunction.”

The ruling means Bitfinex and Tether can continue operating their businesses as normal, but Tether still cannot lend any more funds to Bitfinex.

I second that. If the wallet is properly protected (with a long, well chosen passphrase) it's just not crackable in our lifetime. I think he may be betting on a weak passphrase or he knows something that reduces the search space, or he's simple bluffing and feeding his egomania (the latter being the most probable).
