Guys, imagine we reach 6400 and then go sideways for a month or two.

That would freak people out.

Not enough for real PANIC. Under $5K would probably do. And under $3K and you will see people running around screaming (me included) no matter how hard they look now.

Hopefully this is it (or $6K at the most) and we can start a slow and steady pre-halving recovery.

How much alt coin diversification is needed? 0%?

That combined order book on bitcoinity.org appears to be a new feature.

It works pretty good.

I wished there were a feature on the site to eliminate some of the exchanges, too.... but hey, beggars cannot be choosers, right?

I do see that if I hover the bar over any of the particular exchanges, it will show the order book for that exchange by itself.  That could be somewhat helpful when attempting to look at Bitstamp by itself, for example.

Just a thought but the fractal definitely resembles 2014 a lot more than 2018. 2018 we had the huge descending triangle, 2014 it was a clear downward channel which we are in now.

Looks more like sideways to me, currently, but what do I know.

I am looking at the top of the 2013 BTC price as compared with the top of the 2017 BTC price, and I see a channel that had happened earlier, and then turned into a bit of sideways (or at least less of a slope than the 2013 channel, if you take the whole period into account rather than merely looking at $13,880 until now.

$13,880 until now does not seem to be a representative period or sample or even to capture the whole dynamics of what is going on, but instead seems to represent a selective and out of context pessimism.

What kind of sorcery is this?

This looks ridiculous. Rubbing my eyes for the 2e time... Tongue

https://www.tradingview.com/chart/?symbol=BITFINEX%3ABTCUSDLONGS

This is too out of scale to be a "candid" long position building.
Noticing it started when BAKKT started. Maybe a coincidence?
This is something I will try to look into.
Very intresting.

Opened a thread: this thing is too interesting IMHO:
LONGS on BITFINEX going PARABOLIC

If enough of these longs get liquidated, all the hell will brake loose.
They have been building this longs since one months.
Whoever did that has deep pockets

Longs are building, but shorts are building faster.  The long / short ratio is still at record highs but falling fast.  Shorts continue to pay longs a modest amount on Bitmex.

Most bullish sign today - https://blog.kraken.com/post/3355/kraken-otc-acquires-circle-trade/

Circle got rid of their consumer-facing service just a few short months before the bull run kicked off. Now they've gotten rid of their whale service too.

the history of mankind repeats. some lucky dudes are grabbing as much of this "Magic Internet Money" as they can and unfortunately the majority is not aware of or not interested in. if they would realize the one-time opportunity to switch the sides between the poor and the rich they would follow the lucky dudes and buy even if the price will tank to $1500. but then it would be not the minority anymore which switch the sides and the whole redistribution of wealth won't work. still spread the word but do not expect many will follow your advise. because history repeats.

Thanks for TA, but it is not a fractal since nothing here is recurring (so far) vs 2015-2017.
Everything is just random move, albeit i can give you one fundamental that was critical, IMHO, in stopping the bull run in the summer and it starts with F, not a T.

BTW, my end of the year game entry is quite possible since we are still descending.
Disgusted by seemingly pitiful year end.
