Taxing capital is the ultimate result of fiscal deficit and deliberate overspending, it results in confiscation basically via whatever language excuses it.   Its not new, it happened in the 1970's in parts of Europe and probably many places since.
It doesn't really work in a global economy where production can occur in many places, especially with growing service sector, etc.    People will just leave or their money will, the next part then is capital controls.  Economies usually have to reset for reasons like this, we've gone a long time without one in many countries which kinda makes it worse.

The line is a little too loose for me to reference especially but its fair call we are likely in the region of bottom trend prices.

It is also stupid they ignore those who own hundreds of cheap houses but tax people who only own 1 house which is worth above $840k.

Theres a famous movie star, actually probably more then one but as a couple they just bought houses next to each other.   Both not cheap but they use them as a pair and when their super star egos wear a little thin they just retire to either house to get some space.   Kinda smart but I suppose its possible to own a series of houses quite close to each other and gain vs a tax like this.
It wont be the first or last time it happens.   In years past they taxed the number of windows in a house, glass at the time was still quite special.   Tax obviously is a burden and impediment so people just bricked up their windows to pay less tax.   Taxes end up like sitting on people and expecting them to do their job anyway, it gets too much weight to carry.

Christ on a crutch.  Longs are almost 10x shorts on BFX.  This is the most crowded trade on the planet.  But shorts still paying longs on Bitmex.  Wtf is going on.

I am searching but still cannot find the ideal place to live a happy life. They either tax your wealth or your income with a rate of %50 which is another form of theft.

Monaco of course. You'll have to double your anticipated wealth to afford a rabbit hutch there and you'll be surrounded by dried out skeletons in Hermes jumpsuits but at least it's benign on the surface.

I once spent all night waiting on a pavement there. The Monegasque pigs weren't very nice to me.

Put the assets in a South Dakota trust.

Trustee incorporates a private corporation, the shares of which are held by the trust.

Trust funds the private corporation.

Private corporation opens a bank account.

Bank account has a credit card in name of company.

You use the credit card.  Don't do anything stupid with it.  Live wherever you want.

Any more questions?

Now when a no-coiner, tech illiterate friend tells you about "emailing bitcoins", you have to look down on your feet, clench your teeth and quietly and shamefully admit, that is indeed how it works. Grin

good morning WO

My gf’s Dad keeps thinking he has bitcoin’s because he keeps getting emails saying he has 100,000 in ‘his wallet’, fucking tard.

All that and more.

Rather unforgivably I was accompanied by a Person Of Colour which REALLY didn't go down well with a single person there.

In the end to escape the relentless abuse and refusals of service I took a helicopter back to Nice to rent a car and went up the Col de Turini thinking it would be exciting. Turns out doing 150 hairpins in a Fiat Punto is boring as fuck and extremely tiring.

Couldn't of put it better myself:

This is the most crowded trade on the planet.

My only thoughts is would you incrementally dump Tether for Bitcoin over the course of a month  Huh
Maybe this tells us more about the future of USDT, rather than the price of Bitcoin.

I'm unable to make heads or tails of this. Just thinking aloud.

BFX allows for margin trading, but it also works as a conventional USD(T)/Crypto exchange. USD welcome. Max leverage is 3.3.

Bitmex is speculation only. You need btc to trade any crypto there. Max leverage is 100.

Longs/shorts are always 1.0 on bitmex. The funding rate for the swaps (who pays who) is determined by the difference between the spot swap price and the index price (basically an average of a few select "reliable" exchanges).

The population on the two exchanges surely overlaps, but how different is it?

So could we infer that gambling btc owners are still betting on DOWN - shorting the swaps, at least short term - while the general population, or at least tether holders - are more bullish?

as long as youre in the area be sure to visit the local weed dispensaries; no formal classes on the various ways to enjoy the kind bud but very instructive conversations pop up all the time in them nonetheless.

They also like clothes or new shoes perhaps. Is she a boots kind of woman? Nice, fluffy winter boots.

Now I have a question for you:

In Belgium, do you guys have Belgian Waffles, or do you just call them "waffles"?

Bringing black company in Monaco, how tasteless. Your fun with the hairpins and the punto. You deserved every bit of it.

Personally, I'd rather pay a reasonable amount of unjustified taxes - wondering how much it might be reckoned to be - than living there.

It is indeed horrible but quite entertaining if you enjoy seeing supercars thrashed at speeds of up to 12 mph.

If you don't have massive ongoing income you may as well live across the road from it as the difference in property prices will eat whatever tax you think you're saving.
