Wait. What happens if miners decide to stop mining because its currently not worth it?
Some of them drop out and the difficulty adjusts, making it profitable once again for less efficient miners to jump in. It's a self-balancing mechanism. Driven by greed, thus ensuring that there will always be miners.

https://www.wired.com/2000/01/y2k-alarmist-wha-happened/"North has made a living predicting that modern society will end in panic and ruin. During the '80s, he advised people to stockpile gold because he saw a nuclear war coming with the Soviet Union. Around the same time, he predicted an AIDS epidemic that would overwhelm the world's hospitals. North said he remains baffled as to why the transition to 2000 didn't bring the global chaos he and others had anticipated. Statistically speaking, North thought there should have been at least a few brownouts and blackouts. Clearly, world governments were planning on some kind of trouble. How else do you explain the fact that police officers the world over had to work New Year's Eve?"

If he dies I expect an animatronic Tom to replace him operated by CIA puppeteers. Trump can sick up his own ruined lungs on the Resolute desk live during a TV address and the world will keep on turning. No way will They let Tom meet the same end. If he goes our will will be broken.

Well then as difficulty decreases, you simply buy a few of these bad boys, plug em in to pc and start mining your very own bitcoin! Easy peasy! ...oh wait a minute....

Wait. What happens if miners decide to stop mining because its currently not worth it?
Death spiral. At these prices MAYBE Bitmain and Innsilicon COULD MAYBE mine at less 4c electric and they got the miners to themselves at cost after halving. But, they could very well be the pow network left standing for ASIC pow coins of any flavor I'll bet my own money right now that Bitcoin Core developers would make Bitcoin a POS coin first before allowing that to happen. Bitcoin as of now is dropping where the stock market would like to crash too, as well, the only difference is the so-called stock market circuit breakers kicking in. Also, this is with 1,300 cases in the USA just wait till all the states are looking like polka dots like Oregon. Again, I expect a 40% hit on the stock market and 60% on BTC/crypto. I see no path out here. Tis a complete 'miner capitulation' for ASIC miners IMHO because of halvnig..that's all she wrote boys and girls. brad

People have only started panicking. We are not even in the eye of the storm yet.
That’s the spirit. Only when I contemplate not selling my stash because it isn’t worth shit anymore anyway, is the moment I know we will have hit rock bottom. The best solution for low prices still is ... lower prices

"Yeah, it's true. My parents got coronavirus. Crazy. They're both down in Australia right now because my dad was shooting a movie down there, but I just got off the phone with them. They both are fine – they're not even that sick." Lol, as the rich all start getting tested at the slightest cough we are gonna see the case fatality rate plummet to reality.

Unfortunatly, we are still going to have to send you, for your own safety, to the Chinese quarantine room. Or as they call it: 集中营. WO dudes watch the 200WMA. ridiculous! did Russia start the nuclear WW or what happens? Why would Russia start it? If anything, Russia has been taking America's crap with outstanding patience. "Yeah, it's true. My parents got coronavirus. Crazy. They're both down in Australia right now because my dad was shooting a movie down there, but I just got off the phone with them. As I said, the thing I fear most right now is the human panic. And my lack of fiat to buy new coin. edit: wait what movie?

But Bitcoin has market "circuit breakers". The exchanges routinely go offline during massive pumps or dumps.
