Look at the prices of medical procedures in the US. One would suppose that capitalism would manage to reduce prices due to competition as it does in most other sectors. But in this particular case it is not happening at all. How do you reconcile US not having universal health care and still having the biggest per person spend? It just doesn't make any sense.
Simple. Medicine in the US is a semi-socialized, government-market-distorted clusterfuck that has nothing whatsoever to do with capitalism. So the alternative being fully socialising it would probably work better IN COMPARISON... Unless they manage to keep corrupting the system somehow... which probably they would. Is there any country where a pure capitalist health system exist? If there is, I would like to know and compare costs. Somalia Edit: I checked and I am wrong. Somalia is working towards free basic universal care. Bloody socialists.

I'm not a specialist in discussing US politics, but someone from the US please correct me if I'm getting it wrong:
Will the spreading of the coronavirus in the US benefit Sanders against Biden? Sanders is (arguably) the politician from whom I've heard about healthcare improvement the most; IMO, the failure of the healthcare system in the USA at this point will give the old man some extra advantage in his campaign.

Surely Donald will wind up looking so deranged and callous by the time this has played out they'll be able to put Lenin up against him and he'd probably give him a kicking. You can be lying baby when times are smooth. People will not forgive or forget if the same happens when the shit hits the fan which of course it will. Then again - https://youtu.be/LtDEeerGEJA

Anyone on this thread has had ample time to prepare.
The potential severity of the illness and the inept response by authorities has been well laid out and forecast just from slim data from China.
After that comes the martial law, possible riots, civil unrest and general levels of craziness. Best to get yourself prepared emotionally first for the upheaval and then the rest falls into place. People are not 'panicking' over toilet paper, it's a rational response to get stocks before the other muppets. but you have missed the boat in many places already if you find yourself in that situation. No one really knows where it goes form here in the modern society but if the govt.s keep lying, denying, delaying and deflecting it's not going to go well for them in the final outcome.
In the next 2-3 months most of the Western healthcare systems will be overwhelmed to some degree or another. Make sure you are prepared for that single fact alone if nothing else.

Probably not. Sanders is a nutcake in the same vein as Trump. Polar opposite views, but same irresponsible manner. I think people will not want to go with someone who acts in an irresponsible manner when they feel their lives are threatened as a result. On a related note, apparently they found a guy who tested positive who was at the big CPAC conference 2 weeks ago. This is going to be funny.... Probably hanging with this girl:

https://twitter.com/balajis/status/1236442370444492803While initial growth looks exponential, should prepare for multiple waves. Below are the two waves for H1N1. "A striking characteristic of the past four influenza pandemic outbreaks in the United States has been the multiple waves of infections." "3 different waves of illness during the pandemic, starting in March 1918 and subsiding by summer of 1919. The pandemic peaked in the US during the second wave, in the fall of 1918. This highly fatal second wave was responsible for most of the US deaths"

Maybe. Bernie thinks all it takes for unlimited resources to materialize is for gubmint to decree it to be so. In his mind, costs and production do not exist. I think the majority of Americans understand that resources are not magic fairy dust that can be conjured out of nothing. At least I hope so.

Oh what now ?! Sheeeit.
Fuck.
EDIT: Observing $8,771 and falling.
I know right. It's like this shit just won't end. Halving will take out some supply which will be good long term, but this short term crap is annoying the hell out of me. Looks like a head and shoulders developing on the daily, if that happens price target would be back to the 6500 area again.

Triage means prioritizing those who are most likely to be saved by medical treatment. The corollary is withholding treatment from those likely to die even with treatment. This is good, sensible medical practice which is applied every day when decisions are made to withhold further treatment from the terminally ill. The MerionWest article is excellent, if only because it mirrors my own views on mainstream commentators.

He will no doubt promise a free healthcare system exactly the same as the private one. However, if he wins he will probably have to provide something like the British national health service.

I don't think so. Americans are funny that way. We generally don't want the government telling us we have to do anything and we don't want them involved in our personal business. The younger people may have a different view on this but their numbers are just too small to matter in a national election. When you see statistics and polls showing differently, you have to understand, most hard working American's aren't going to speak to some asshole calling you after dinner to answer stupid survey questions. This is how Trump won in surprise fashion. The pissed off people will show up and vote but aren't going to speak to polsters about it. Government controlled healthcare is not a reasonable solution. You would lose all the innovation America creates and the whole world benefits from. They could regulate insurance companies and healthcare providers though to eliminate some of the most heinous activities (such as drug and ER pricing) but taking over would set the world back decades in my opinion.

WB JJG You fuck!!!!! #nohomoJJG was gone for roughly one week, and the total WO post count parity, dipped noticeably. Focus, nobody bought this dip. Should he ever leave for a month or more, we are dealing with a 80% correction, to complete annihilation and lock down of the thread, on the yearly milestone.
Probably need to petition some kind of special waiver from theymos.. in case theymos is feeling trigger happy and inclined to deep 6 the thread based on per day post count...? or maybe if someone were to program chartbuddy II, then theymos would not notice the slippage? next time youre away have some "best of JJG" reposts ready at a keystroke to fill in. uhhh no, nevermind, bad idea. really. its OK. That's one of the dumbest ideas that I ever heard. Therefore, I sent you an smerit for sharing such hilariousness.
