BTC must really be set for lift-off, any minute day now. The whole Cuntonian army & associates assembled yesterday - Sunday please, to see how to handle the CT problem on btctlk. They decided to sacrifice Ibian. Before that, it was mindrust & before that r0achie. Ah well, they're all expendable anyway.Random thought of the day:

What if I told you, that talking endlessly about people you claim to ignore is a sign of severe cognitive dissonance?

I think the point is we didn't know this was a thing before January. Now that we know, we can better prepare for it. Right now its spreading like wildfire, and we need to contain the spread as it is already overwhelming healthcare infrastructures worldwide.
Want to be clear here: We knew this was coming. We had dress rehearsals with SARS, MERS, and H5N1. We knew what needed to be done. We just decided not to listen, and not to prepare. This is the logical outcome. Sorry, but I believe strongly that Reality exists and facing one's errors is critical to ensuring they don't happen again. The problem isn't that "we didn't know" the problem is people willingly choose to ignore facts.

Observing $6,375 & eating lots of junk food at home, self isolating. Just had my gardener do 3 hours of work, he’s probably not supposed to be working but fuck if I’m expected to garden, no thanks. Hoping to see resistance finally broken at $6,800 this week & then maybe we can get some momentum heading towards the halving. I really hope this whole pandemic doesn’t stunt what was/is supposed to be a big transfer of wealth & expected parabolic rise in the next 18 months. I’m being selfish & all that but we have plans don’t we guys, they need to be carried out. I don’t want to see any weak hands here, we’ve already lost a few good men to cowardice selling since COVID19 showed its ugly face.

If more people had listened and understood how serious this was in the beginning we wouldn't be in this fucking mess

gardening is actually pretty relaxing, and good for your health too. you're basically paying people to have fun and exercise.

BRB, applying for a trillion dollar loan. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/economy/federal-reserve-to-lend-additional-1-trillion-a-day-to-large-banksThe New York Federal Reserve Bank said it will offer $1 trillion of overnight loans a day through the end of this month to large banks. That is in addition to $1 trillion in 14-day loans it is offering every week. Banks, so far, have not borrowed nearly as much as the New York Fed is offering, and the loans are quickly repaid. None of the funding is from taxpayer dollars. Wall Street analysts say the huge number is intended to calm markets by demonstrating that the Fed’s ability to lend short-term is nearly unlimited.
The Fed is also buying Treasury bonds at a furious pace, and will soon run through the $500 billion in purchases it announced on Sunday. It is also accelerating its purchases of mortgage-backed securities. Most analysts expect they will buy more.

I tried my hand at a bit of gardening the other day and found it surprisingly nice. It's spring here now. The sun was shining, plants were budding, a bit of blossom around, birds singing, nature oblivious to the man-made chaos. It was therapuetic and a nice way to avoid the blanket media coverage of COVID. And when I came back inside and checked the charts, I hadn't missed much. I might do it again next time the sun is out.

Warren Buffett in his 1979 shareholder letter: Long term results [...]
“One friendly but sharp-eyed commentator on Berkshire has pointed out that our book value at the end of 1964 would have bought about one-half ounce of gold and, 15 years later, after we have plowed back all earnings along with much blood, sweat and tears, the book value produced will buy about the same half ounce. A similar comparison could be drawn with Middle Eastern oil. The rub has been that government has been exceptionally able in printing money and creating promises, but is unable to print gold or create oil.
“We intend to continue to do as well as we can in managing the internal affairs of the business. But you should understand that external conditions affecting the stability of currency may very well be the most important factor in determining whether there are any real rewards from your investment in Berkshire Hathaway.”
This was before 1982 when company stock buybacks were made legal. Now that ol' Warren benefits from the Fed printing trillions in funny money and his companies' stocks getting bought back to run up share prices, he doesn't give a shit anymore.

- People remain at home. - Those who are carriers can't spread the virus to other people. - Those who don't have it can't get it. - In total isolation with 100% follow-through rate, it would only take 14-28 days for the problem to subside completely. - Seeing as how that is not a viable alternative, I think 60 days of fairly stringent quarantine measures is reasonable. People do have to go out to get food and supplies, and people do have to be present at workplaces to deliver them. - Everybody else whose employment is deemed non-essential will suffer financially. - A relatively large amount of people are going to die from inadequate medical care.
This is the best case scenario.
Do you disagree with any of these premises or conclusions?
- Shutting down the US economy for 6+ weeks will destroy a majority of small->medium businesses and raise da unemployment thru da roof who benefits?

gardening is actually pretty relaxing, and good for your health too. you're basically paying people to have fun and exercise. It can be. I'm going to grab a bunch of tomato plants and fire up a small garden for spring/summer. Big problem is bunnies but I have the pellet gun and will have license to shoot for rabbit meat as needed. Problem now is it's *WET* which means I can't hitch up the tiller till it dries out a bit. However I do have tons of well composted leaves so this could work this year....
