Spot on Tyler: In 1920, alcohol was constitutionally banned during the Prohibition movement. In 2020, liquor stores are considered essential businesses during a pandemic. A lot can change in 100 years.
https://twitter.com/tylerwinklevoss/status/1248952791667740672?s=20Everything we do is illegal in at least one jurisdiction or has been illegal in one jurisdiction sometime in history. Bear this in mind when they tell you government tries to ban Bitcoin. Bitcoin fixes that.

Hello from 1920... Alcohol is banned in my country. So I am doing something illegal in your jurisdiction drinking a bottle of wine. So defining something as illegal, or immoral, is just a very local and relative concept. JSRAW, Indymoney, sorry if my barolo drinking somehow offends you. This is not the point of the whole post, of course!

Difficulty rising because BCH and BSV miners joined BTC? https://twitter.com/100trillionUSD/status/1248960683808641024?s=20According to crypo.this next difficult adjustment will be +7.28% (expected in 10 days roughly). Please note how market price has been following model price (white dots in the lower part of the graph hovering around 1). Regarding BCH miners: well, they were a tinty tiny percentage og total BTC hashrate, hence I strongly doubt they will impact anything. https://fork.lol/pow/hashrate

Well, I'm going to shut up about it as I am clearly in the minority.
But I am pretty disappointed, people talk a hell of a line about libertarianism and self reliance until the free shit shows up.
What are we gonna do, NOT get as much money as we can? How uncapitalistic.

Hello from 1920... Alcohol is banned in my country. Same. Speakeasies on the rise. Welcome to the 20s. Alcohol is once again banned here as well. I can get bootleg stuff for about 150% of the price. Cigarettes are also now banned. But I suppose that makes more sense. I should really quit smoking. Nothing to do but get fat now. Oh BTW, I've switched my hat to one made by homer's daughter. Figured I would take it out for a test drive.

The Venezuelan's exchange Criptolago introduced crypto payment without any internet. Venezuelans have a new way to send crypto without Internet-Criptolago has rolled out crypto payments for its users via SMS text messages. -Along with Dash Text, Venezuelans now have access to crypto payments, even when Internet connectivity fails. -Criptolago hopes to advance greater crypto adoption throughout Venezuela with its new service. According to the exchange, the initiative was launched in response to a call by President Nicolas Maduro, who urged companies to develop payment mechanisms parallel to the traditional banking system. The president emphasized the need to create offline payment systems compatible with the new Petro cryptocurrency.
But the petro isn’t being singled out by Criptolago. The exchange has enabled offline transactions for all tokens listed on its platform. In other words, Venezuelans can now send Petro, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dash and Glufco (the eponymous token of the Venezuelan crypto investment bank) without the need for an Internet connection. The platform also enabled a module for transactions in Bolivars—the national fiat currency.

Off grid transactions is something I have been looking at lately: [Total privacy Bitcoin]: off grid Transactions LoRaWan/goTennaOf course I think an SMS transaction is not very much resilient to censorship, but alas, every other mean of transacting helps for sure! this is so much true in poorly internet serviced countries.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Still under $7k... $6867USD/$9582CAD (Bitcoinaverage). Slow. Ho hum. This is nice! Off grid transactions is something I have been looking at lately Off grid? SMS isn't exactly off grid, is it? Also, isn't internet service more widespread than phone service? Where I am in a sparsely populated part of Mexico, we have no landline or cell phone service but internet service is fairly reliable. I have friends in rural Costa Rica in the same situation. Everybody uses Whatsapp to make voice calls here, even businesses. If you've got access to cellphone service you've probably got internet connectivity. What am I missing here? _____ RIP Bruno

<...> Off grid? SMS isn't exactly off grid, is it?

Surely SMS is not an off Grid Transaction, like as I said, relies on an infrastructure grid that can be quite pervasive. Regarding you situation I am frankly quite surprised on how you can have internet without landlines or mobile coverage. In Italy the reverse is true. Where landline do not arrive (because anticonomical to cover those villages via cable) internet comes with mobile network. But mobile phone coverage is almost a prerequisite for internet coverage. How can internet arrive in remote villages without even a mobile connection? ^

Definitely ICU do not mean ventilator.
