Saving in #Bitcoin creates a virtuous cycle that enriches its holders and simultaneously reduces demand for inferior stores of value like fiat currency and gold.

In this sense, holding #Bitcoin is contributing to a global charity mandated with the separation of money and state.

Never really been a fan of this argument, since it works the same in the opposite direction (vicious circle). Hence the boom and bust cycles. You need to both understand money and bitcoin to a certain extend to be able to see why it has (long term) value in the first place.

$166B Asset Manager Renaissance Eyes Bitcoin Futures for Flagship Fund

Quote
Renaissance Technologies’ market-crushing Medallion fund is considering jumping into bitcoin futures, recent regulatory filings show.

The quantitative analysis-heavy firm has “permitted” the Medallion fund to enter the Chicago Mercantile Exchange’s (CME) cash-settled bitcoin futures market, according to the March 30-dated Form ADV investor brochure.

Renaissance, which had nearly $166 billion in regulatory assets under management at the end of 2019 according to that filing, has effectively signaled that bitcoin could or already is a factor for its flagship Medallion fund, whose 66 percent average pre-fee annual return since 1988 is unmatched on Wall Street.

Okay Nostradamus, no need to reassure me.
Whatever the case, we're going to get it all on TV, live. Lips sealed

But the question remains:
Will BTC do well in the mean time?

All Members.

Firstly “Thank you” for the comments I am now receiving from many of you.  Any suitable material that I can use please forward to me.   I intend to carry on the Daily Humour for as long as this Lock Down goes on;    How much longer is anyone’s guess at the moment.

Extract from the diary of Pam Ayres.   My dad was a linesman for the Southern Electricity Board for 44 years and a sergeant in the [Regiment] during the war. He has the most fantastic sense of humour – he was tremendous fun – but he did have an awful temper. I was scared to death of his temper, but we all got on and we had a tremendous bond.

The Daily Express Newspaper, yesterday 18th,  confirms that  Pam did indeed composed this poem.

Thank you  Jean S***** also Reg C***** for this contribution.

Time for us girls by Pam Ayres

I'm normally a social girl, I love to meet my mates
But lately with the virus here we can't go out the gates.
You see, we are the 'oldies' now, we need to stay inside
If they haven't seen us for a while, they'll think we've upped and died.

They'll never know the things we did before we got this old
There wasn't any Facebook so not everything was told.
We may seem sweet old ladies who would never be uncouth
But we grew up in the 60s - if you only knew the truth!

There was sex and drugs and rock 'n roll, the pill and miniskirts
We smoked, we drank, we partied and were quite outrageous flirts.
Then we settled down, got married and turned into someone's mum,
Somebody's wife, then granny, who on earth did we become?

We didn't mind the change of pace because our lives were full
But to bury us before we're dead is like a red rag to a bull!
So here you find me stuck inside for 4 weeks, maybe more
I finally found myself again then I had to close the door!

It didn’t really bother me, I'd while away the hour
I'd bake for all the family but I've got no flaming flour!
Now Netflix is just wonderful, I like a gutsy thriller
I'm swooning over Idris or some random sexy killer.

At least I've got a stash of booze for when I'm being idle
There's wine and whiskey,  even gin if I'm feeling suicidal!
So let's all drink to lockdown, to recovery and health
And hope this awful virus doesn't decimate our wealth.

We'll all get through the crisis and be back to join our mates
Just hoping I'm not far too wide to fit through the flaming gates!

Keep safe everyone,

Hon Sec

It is.
Eating rice, is not that bad in Italy.
I am black belt in risotto.

I'm not Italian but this looks like it could be correct:

This was a good map too, of each country's most grotesque delicacy:

Scotland sounds like its got it going on. I'm down to try deep fried pizza. That sounds amazing.

Don't know what's wrong with Switzerland's item either.

Pretty Accurate.
Switzerland cuisine is Horror.
Unless you think putting an overpriced piece of meat on the grill is cuisine.
Also on the first image, I think the judgement  on Spanish cuisine  is a little bit too harsh.

I could actually live happily with Spanish cuisine (Polbo á la gallega, gambas al ajio, pata negra) are delicacies I could happily substitute a lot of italian plates for.

Regarding culinary Horroy I actually like a few of them
Squid Ink
Sea Urchins

I must agree with fillippone. Spanish cuisine is almost uniformly good - as is Portuguese cuisine, albeit imaginably less varied. French can be quite good too, if a little on the heavy side. Swiss cuisine? If you take out chocolate and cheese, you're left with overpriced meat and potatoes.

Squid ink is a delicacy. The taste is surprisingly subtle. Its shiny black gloss makes your lips look funny but provides spectacular presentation. Try it with a seafood risotto. It clots easily and tastes bad if overcooked, so it it's normally the last thing that gets added before serving. By the way, cuttlefish is better than squid for ink. Besides, squids begin to taste like ammonia when they're too big/old - especially the oceanic varieties.

I also like head cheese, sea urchins, and other supposed culinary horrors. It's not like "I'll eat just anything" - but in some cases the right ingredients and a skillful preparation can make the difference between delicious and disgusting.
