Someone has hacked JJG account!

This surely done by this person @JayJuanGee

A couple hours earlier, I had already calculated the silent time in terms of the UTC proposal, but when the actual time came, it had somehow slipped my mind until I saw jojo's post.. right on the exact time.. like a military trooper.

My initial impression was that jojo was trolling us, again, but then by the time I saw a few more similar posts, I realized the purpose... and thinking better late than never... I just shut everything off for a few minutes, and afterwards listened to the about one minute of taps, so even though the WO time of the silence was proposed by toxic, it still seems like a really great idea to do it, even if late.

I guess that I did not have too many interactions with Bruno, but just kind of thinking through the silence about his various forum contributions in a way that got passed through some of the consciousness of other forum members, and surely some forum members are NOT able (or won't be able) to sign any last message, so I suppose in some sense, there was some fortune in Bruno's being able to pen a nearly last message that was only about 10 days before his passing without the use of his right arm and likely diminishing faculties (as he mentioned in one of his final response posts), and surely also the 10 days were 50 days fewer than what he mentioned as the expectation.

Reflection can be a good thing.  That is all tm (stolen/borrowed from toxic moxic).

We appear to be approaching another 'down' cycle or perhaps it could better be called a repeat of the previous cycle we just completed..regardless.. its semantics. The bow shock of this pandemic event has not even reached most of us yet..hard as that is to grasp. Until we see that..the actual curve of infection rates start to decline globablly..its a crap shoot at worst and a exerciser in futility at best to try and guess how far the market will rise or fall. My gut tells me that worse is yet to come whilst the monkey brain screams at confinement and isolation.  #dyor

Spot on Tyler:

Quote
In 1920, alcohol was constitutionally banned during the Prohibition movement. In 2020, liquor stores are considered essential businesses during a pandemic. A lot can change in 100 years.
Hello from 1920... Alcohol is banned in my country.

So I am doing something illegal in your jurisdiction drinking a bottle of wine.
So defining something as illegal, or immoral, is just a very local and relative concept.

JSRAW, Indymoney, sorry if my barolo drinking somehow offends you. This is not the point of the whole post, of course!

Ilegal is somewhat a relative social construction/custom, not only in the geographical sense but also in the timeline.

For example, in the past pederasty was not only legal but a completely accepted and encouraged social custom. Think of what all those fucking philosophers of the past were doing in their free time....

Could the same happen with alcohol some centuries in the future? Who the hell knows.

I have been studying the japanese and chinese for some time. I was not sure what to make of the chinese for a long time but recent events have made things clear.

The japanese are what we might call a traditional or conservative culture. They value unity, social trust, hard work, excellence, dedication, politeness and honesty (so far as that goes with any culture and as politics permit). They are in a word normal people, if arguably better than most in many respects.

The chinese are the opposite. In a single word the chinese can be summed up as narcissists. Narcissists are selfish in the extreme, pathological liars, they do not value human life (or any other form), they have no honor and morals, they care about nothing other than gaining power for its own sake and they are allergic to responsibility.

There is little difference between dealing with pathologies on the individual level and as a group. Normal people who are forced to regularly interact with a narcissist become sick, ranging from anything from unexplained unease to stress to depression and in some extreme cases to suicide. This is a big topic that is best looked up for anyone interested in details.

The way to deal with a narcissist is first of all physical distance. This is the most important thing. Left to their own devices with no social victims, they are harmless (if not self-destructive). Secondly remove any influence they have over your life. If neither of those work, if the narcissist persists in pestering you, the final and necessary recourse is physical violence. It is literally them or you and your life may depend on your choice.

Just as it is with the individual, so it is with countries. China has literally made the entire world sick, both in literal biological terms and in terms of psychology as well as (least importantly on this list) financially. And china must be punished.

First of all is distance. Stop trading with them, stop buying their products, with any luck nations will turn away from them. Extract sanctions from them if possible. This is the minimum step needed, if we do not do at least this then everything will get worse. We will lose more freedoms, they will continue to spread new global diseases every so often and the economy will inevitably collapse (worse than it already is).

Secondly we need to remove their influence over our lives. One of the most obvious targets here is the WHO. China owns them for all practical purposes. This needs to be fixed or the organization dismantled, and the same with any other large groups they have undue influence over.

With both of these done, all that remains is to live our lives. If they leave us to it, so be it, they will survive or collapse on their own merits, such as they are. If not, almost certainly not, then war becomes unavoidable. Maybe they will start it, maybe we will, either way it is very likely to happen. And I believe they deserve to be wiped out for everything they have done to the world.

China delenda est. China must be destroyed.

Guys, I bought a nice domain name a few months back related to bitcoin; it's still sitting in the dust. I wanted your suggestions about what to do with it. I've got some free time these days and thought of building a little bitcoin-related thing on it; something small like that "BRRRRR" page. It can also be related to Bitcointalk.

The best suggestion, that I'll be considering for development and implementation, will get straight 20 Merits from me. Wink

Dedicate it to Bitcoin as a gateway for those who don't know Bitcoin:

Bitcoin price online

1
- Explain how Bitcoin was born, Satoshi Nakamoto
- Difference between Bitcoin and fiat money
- Bitcoin Guide
- White paper
- Wallets
- Full node

2
- Exchange Guide Centralized
- Decentralized
- Tax Guide

3
- Bitcoin Fiat and Fiat Bitcoin credit cards
- Bitcoin ATMs

4
- FIAT monetary system information
- Global debt information
- inflation deflation money supply

5
- And if you have time to spend on the website or blog, update it with relevant news and articles.
This will drive you a lot of traffic if you post your own quality content, use the same domain name on social media and post some of the new content with a link to your full article page.

And from here, everything you can think of can be useful for a person who wants to buy Bitcoin and does not know how to do it.

Of course, a link to Bitcointalk as a reference forum. Wink

Depending on the traffic you get, you can monetize your page with Google Adsense, exchange referral programs, hardware wallet referrals.

4x merited! I really appreciate your suggestions; those are some very nice business ideas. However, what I'm looking for right now aren't business ideas, but ideas that require some code (and fun) rather than the data collection (and all seriousness). I just wanna see how Node.js works (I've been very good with PHP in the past but have never really tried Node).

Dollar brrrrrr (random sudden insane speed increases)

versus

Bitcoin brrrrrr (at a reliable and consistent pace producing new blocks, preferably real time)

A good one but it'll be too similar to the current brrr webpage.

Did you have the foresight to buy "BBBBRRRR.com?" Bravo!

Heh, LOL, Nah.

Realtime quote tracker with a chart showing bitstamp price at each time the word "Coronavirus" is mentioned, coplotted with volume data for the number of mentions of #nohomo in between the time stamps. Background is a snowfall of xhomer's hats.

So far the best idea. Let's see if someone else provides any better idea in the next couple of days; if there's no other good one, I'll be going for yours! Smiley

If you add 'eventually', i might agree, but as it stands currently-NO.
Compare population from here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_proper_by_population_density

with cases-no correlation yet.

Specific cases:

NY 10.9K/sq km
180K cases

Singapore 8.3K/sq km
1K cases (almost the same as NY, about 140 times less on a relative basis)

Hong Kong 6.6K/sq km
1K cases

Tokyo 6.14/sq km
1.7K cases
