I am a physician who has been working at the bedside of COVID+ patients in NYC.  I believe we are treating the wrong disease and that we must change what we are doing if we want to save as many lives as possible.  I welcome any feedback, especially from those bedside:  doctors, nurses, xray techs, pharmacists, anyone and everyone.  Does this sound wrong or right, is something more right?  Please let me know.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Coronavirus is the biggest lie after 9/11 that mankind ever seen. Media is hyping it to pass the elite agenda. Anyone who suffers from any illness and passes away is told to be died from Coronavirus to pump the numbers. What a joke , I guess only low IQ people believe in this hoax

The earth is flat too, right?

The world will  change after this virus.

I wanna know where they are sending all these actors?

They cant do EastEnders now

Some are laid off, others send to Hollywood, and some even to Bollywood.
Very few get to be hunted down for fun. Wink
Even less few, are sent to distract the WO from revolutionizing the monetary system.

And don't worry about East Enders, I'm sure they will shoot a sequel, sooner or later.

Belgium is a real outlier.
Hope social distancing rules/quarantine will show effects soon, otherwise this can tun out really bad (of course fatalities have a 20 days lag over contagion numbers).

USA is now the nation with highest number of positive and highest fatalities. And according to this graph is still so low on ratio perspective. Hopefully they will succeed flattening the curve. Otherwise, given also their health system it is going to be very bad.

Our news desk has just received word that there has been a tragic outbreak of the Coronavirus at this year’s Satoshi Roundtable, a formerly exclusive Bitcoin Maximalist event that once catered to the “Who’s Who” of Crypto but now caters to the “Who’s That?”

The outbreak was thought to have been caused by Justin Sun, CEO of Ethereum killer TRON, who was surprisingly in attendance this year. We were confused as to why TRON was invited to this exclusive event but learned that the organizers desperately needed to fill seats so anyone would do. Also in attendance were additional shitcoin projects such as Cardano and EOS which thankfully didn’t bring Coronavirus with them, just shame.

Sun had come straight from TRON HQ in Wuhan, China and was initially greeted with hostility by the other conference attendees who were flabbergasted that someone was there who had made more money than them. This changed instantly when Justin sneezed in the punchbowl and the attendees became infected with the Coronavirus which mysteriously caused them all to become stark raving mad shitcoiners, FOMOing at the mouth, and taking to their Twitters to begin shilling TRON and sharing selfies with Justin Sun.

We asked our resident virologist Dr. Pompliano for his thoughts on this bizarre behavior and he advised us that some of the lesser known symptoms of Coronavirus include a complete regression to basic Crypto noob, evidenced by posting Lambo memes, asking for airdrops, shilling referral codes, posting price predictions on Twitter only to be deleted later, using BitMEX in any way shape or form, and promoting shitcoins. One of the most afflicted by the terrible virus was the venerable Dr. Adam Back who has since rebranded his Twitter account to simply “Crypto Adam.”

Reporters discovered that once Mr. Sun realized that he had infected the conference, Sun bought the entire city’s supply of facemasks and re-sold them at 10 times the price, branded with the TRON logo, and payable only with TRX.

Guys, I bought a nice domain name a few months back related to bitcoin; it's still sitting in the dust. I wanted your suggestions about what to do with it. I've got some free time these days and thought of building a little bitcoin-related thing on it; something small like that "BRRRRR" page. It can also be related to Bitcointalk.

The best suggestion, that I'll be considering for development and implementation, will get straight 20 Merits from me. Wink

This may be seen as pretty wanky but that's never stopped me before.
I'd like to be able to compare the rate at which people are earning merits. Not the totals, but the rates, per day, per post etc compared to each other.
Before anyone says oh but LoyceV or oh but DdmrDdmr have this, they are unusable, either the ui with the latter or you have to pester the former.

I'd also like a sentiment detector for all exchanges, building on your scam threads thread, an algo to find out how much each exchange is rated on here versus twitter. You'd have to run each mention against a list of positive words or negative and it may be a bit hard.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Sideways 'r' us... currently $6945USD/$9689CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

This sub-$7k crap is starting to get me down. It's time to move on up.

parody of a brainwashed American was brilliant

Sometimes, I pity the innocent naïvety of Canadians the rest of the world.

_______

My heart goes out to my friends and family members in the USA. Even though it's been over 50 years since I lived there, I still feel an affinity for the place. Luckily not all Americans naively swallow their government's propaganda. Stay strong and do your own thinking. Don't go looking for scapegoats.

While the grim statistics show the USA to be the hardest hit and one of the least prepared countries, it is starting to catch up and the daily levels of new cases and daily new deaths seem to be leveling off. The curve is flattening.

Hopefully the worst is almost over. People just need to be more careful and use accepted anti-contagion practices. Don't retreat into denial. The Chinese Snakebite Scam Disease isn't going to "miraculously" disappear no matter what some idiot politician says. Everyone has to work together to defeat it.

I hope you're right...  I think the next 30m/3day/2months/etc are critical. Wink

That said, the volume on this rise is so low.  Hopefully it's the front of it.

Bitcoin’s Future: Exactly How a Coming Upgrade Could Improve Privacy and Scaling

Quote
If the privacy and scaling upgrade Schnorr/Taproot makes it into bitcoin (BTC), it could pave the way for advanced and heretofore impossible projects.
That is, as they say, good for bitcoin.

https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoins-future-exactly-how-a-coming-upgrade-could-improve-privacy-and-scaling

Again.
A lot can be done with privacy management before the introduction of those improvement.

I suggest a great read on Bitcoin and Privacy from Giacomo Zucco:

A Treatise On Bitcoin And Privacy Part 1: A Match Made In The Whitepaper
Quote
How one’s focus can shift in just two weeks! While today everybody in the Bitcoin space seems more concerned with price fluctuations in response to the global financial panic (understandably so), it’s important to remember perennial issues that never go away, like the importance of maintaining your privacy when you transact in bitcoin. Throughout this month especially, we’ve been hearing reports of KYC/AML-compliant exchanges freezing user accounts due to suspected use of CoinJoin software (more on that later), followed by yet another case of a famous and respected early Bitcoin proponent promoting his new illiquid altcoin as something that “will replace Bitcoin, which isn’t private enough!”

If you want to take a short break from global pandemics, financial meltdowns and price volatility, here’s an attempt at analyzing claims, facts and context of this latest “Bitcoin drama.” To begin with, in Part 1 of this two-part series, we’ll start by looking at the fundamental relationship between Bitcoin and privacy by going back to the beginning with the whitepaper. Then, in Part 2, we’ll focus on some the ways that Bitcoin privacy is being maintained and improved upon — and strike down a few “red herrings.”

A Treatise On Bitcoin And Privacy Part 2: Don’t Be Misled By Red Herrings
Quote
In Part One of this treatise, we examined the fundamental relationship between Bitcoin and privacy by going back to the beginning with the whitepaper. In spite of some excellent privacy preserving options  that have been available to users since those early days, we seem to have taken a few wrong turns. But to fix it, in order to make Bitcoin’s privacy “great again,” we must be able to distinguish between real privacy and red herrings that can only lead us further off the path.

( I made an Italian version of this, if ever you care).
There are so many interesting things on those articles, I strongly recommend a read.

Luckily, more and more people are getting aware of the situation and applying state of the art techiquest to protect their privacy:

Ps. I understand these statistics are available for wasabi because it's a "centralised" coin mixing scheme.
Decentalised ones, like Wasabi's haven't this statistics because are... decentralised.
