If you are serious, then you need help..

Sincerely, go sodomize yourself with a length of rusted pipe.

Then go and stick your head between your legs, and inhale deeply, your own perfect flatus, while grinning in ecstasy.

Your nosey presumptive arrogance has always sickened me.

This community has been increasingly turning me off for reasons you aren't even aware of (you're not cool enough) so, seriously, just get fucked in the most painful way possible, you utterly ignorant bellend.

Is it Thursday already?
Or is it just open day on JJG?
If so, STFU JJ.

For some strange reason, people just don't seem to like me, so they tend to devolve into delusionalening about what day of the week it is (always believing that it is thursday) those fucks.

attempts to manage liquidation in a way that is prudent, reasonable and either tries to maximize incremental cash out given that such cash out is also within a timeline that has been authorized by the HODLer....

in this case authorized by the hodlers wife Grin

Does anyone feel a bit frustrated with Bitcoin at the moment?

Not this cat.

Just think about where bitcoin was in 2015/2106... feeling pretty good, right now.

In the last 3-4 months we have seen stock prices such as Tesla and Amazon sky rocket. Even gold has increased 25% since a year ago.

So?  We also saw bitcoin bounce back around 2.5x from the March 12 downswing.. and to largely stay in $8,500 to $10k in the past couple of months.

Will sentiment for mass bitcoin appeal come back or are we destined to not grow much further?

Bitcoin does not need mass appeal, but sure, there will continue to be gravitation of more value and people into bitcoin in the coming years, and cycles of ups and downs along the way, too.

Or worse, collapse?

I doubt it, but sure anything is possible.

We haven't grown in price at all since a year ago whilst the world has gone through hell and investors looking to eye what will be new norm in 10 years: more Amazon / AWS technology and electronic cars.
Bitcoin seems to have fallen off the radar a bit.

Probably, you need to zoom out a bit, if you are looking at bitcoin in such a short time frame.

Good luck with your investment in Amazon, AWS and electronic cars, you will probably need it... but hey, a little diversification might be o.k. too.

Are investors fooled or are we fools?

You are coming off as a bit of a fool with the kinds of questions that you are asking.. It's as if you don't understand what the fuck is bitcoin, trying to compare it to some centralized companies, stock and also to a long term PM that has lost its status as a money (aka gold).  You sound like not only a fool, but a bit of a lost fool to come to a bitcoin thread and present such nonsense talking points while looking at such a short time frame.

From where are you getting your nonsense talking points, bitcoinbunny?

Bitcoin is boring AF right now, nothing to discuss so please, JJG we need to know. Did you.........

go sodomize yourself with a length of rusted pipe.

Then go and stick your head between your legs, and inhale deeply

Unless you are crying out to the WO thread for help to get out of the clutches of your wife's (presumptuously) tight clutches (haven't we had enough of that kind of drama from other members, recently?), I am going to presume that such BTC liquidation authorization(s) (even though she had to beat you to a pulp) was largely consensual.    Tongue Tongue Tongue

The Sovereign Individual (1999) is a guide for navigating the current transition from Industrial to Information Age.

Remarkably, it predicted the rise of 'digital gold'.

To do a regression on bitcoin's long term trend, get rid of the manic price actions (the stuff in blue). Do a regression on the red data. You get the yellow line. Its equation is price = 10^(.09242*sqrt(d)-1.5011) where d is the days elapsed since September 11, 2010

I project a brief top between $150k and $200k around late 2021, followed by a grinding bear market reverting eventually to the base trend.

What would the price be as we return to the base trend, post top?

Lemme see, bottom around March 2023, that's 12.5 years or 4565 days.
Maybe $50k market bottom early 2023.

That's assuming corn keeps loving the square root of time.  The yellow line, going out, looks kind of steep to me.
At some point the market's going to saturation regime, even if it's just incipient (in the coming years); sooner or later the curve will begin transitioning to what looks more like the logistic.

That $50k contains a little dose of hopium.

Hey mate - my usual 'historical' response.,..

Top to bottom it's usually about 80 - 85%.

So:
$150K top - $22.5K - $30K
$200K top - $30K - $40K

OTOH - who cares, if the top was that good? Wink

@kurious - I know, we’ll be rich beyond our wildest dreams BUT I obviously want to plan to buy some back. We’ll never time the top or bottom perfectly but be cool to keep some fiat on an exchange & gobble a load back up cheaply Wink

Was.  Peaks follow the square root trend too (it's simply time-shifted).  The math implies declining volatility.
I have posted charts in the past to illustrate the declining volatility over time.  If anybody's interested they're available by clicking on my profile.

*whimper*

oh wait

edit: on a more serious note..

back in the day when i started GPU mining bitcoin my (our) plan was sell 1/2 keep 1/2 to see where bitcoin went.  the selling was to cover the hardware and electric. well obviously it went way past each of our expectations. so for a bit when we wanted fiat for lifestyle upgrades more came from corn.

then it was "yikes price very very moon in progress" so stuff came from mostly fiat at that point

now when i want some fiat for whatever, i try to draw kinda a little bit sorta vaguely equally from all assets.

Good morn Bitcoinland
Ninety-two thirty dollars
(Bitcoinaverage).

I need more coffee
To handle all this boredom
Of going sideways.

It's time to move up
And see our investments grow.
Go go Bitcoin go.

For some strange reason, people just don't seem to like me, so they tend to devolve into delusionalening about what day of the week it is

Just too many words...
Or too many syllables
Such as in this case.

You don't need to cram
In nearly as many words.
Sometimes less is more.
