$13,000 by the end of the week? What odds are you giving me on that, hey?

Wink

13k are quite possible IMHO. I'd say ~35% likely. For JJG, I'd say 35.10332%

But I actually care more about a good rock-solid 12k than a flimsy 13k. Slow and steady wins the race Wink

Nibbling at 12k from below. I've got a good feeling for the weekend.

No odds for this but I am also feeling we are going to touch $12K for this weekend because now we are doing some good in last few weeks.

You are not going to be a bit pissed off LFC because you had sold 75%-ish of your stash at around the $75k blow-off top fake out that might come around September/October-ish 2021?  because remember you were planning to buy back lower?  would you second guess that selling 75% might be a bit much at those lower prices, even though it will both bring you a lot of pleasure and it will lock in a lot of profits.. but then you end up missing another 3.5x?  Sure your 25% is still riding, so you would not have missed out everything, even though you are feeling pretty rich as fuck with your 75% cashing out.

JJG, I’ll be 35 by the time the supposed parabolic rise starts. I’d be more angry at myself for selling nothing at around $70,000 if we collapsed from there than I would be if I sold 75% before we get to $100,000 only to see us touch something ridiculously high like $200,000.

I took nothing during the last bull & these 4-5 years have been tough. I refuse to sit through another cycle without taking big money out.

I am now running my own block explorer that explores my own node.

Feel free to use it if you like.

That is pretty awesome, did you do it all by yourself or is there a guide or something?

I'd love to brag, but it's just an optional bit of kit included with the Raspiblitz.

https://github.com/rootzoll/raspiblitz

Bitcoin nodes are pretty easy to set up though, and so is this block explorer... lightning is a little trickier still.  I have done both from scratch.  Getting lightning running the first time was one of the fiddlier things I have ever set up. I find Raspiblitz to be a pretty solid project.

I've had a node running on plain Ubuntu desktop for years already. I tried to set up a lightning node, but it was a complicated business, so I gave it up until easier setup packages would become available. I've also had a node running on a PI3 - no external hard drive, just a USB stick - but as you can imagine mass storage size/speed was an insurmountable issue. I guess the PI4 is quite different. Can you tell us more about your experience - I mean additional storage, software setup tips etc.?

Fireworks accident my ass, That was like a small nuke with a mushroom. Check out that blast wave ring.

Even the smallest nuke would give off a blindingly bright white flash when exploding. Also you would think some putz with a geiger counter would have uploaded his radiation findings on youtube by now...

Nah its definitely fireworks. Theres a video of some guy (dead now) who decided to stream a video of the building like 20 meters away. You could hear and see the fireworks going off inside the building.

The big explosion was probably huge stacks of nitrates detonating. This is why firework companies keep their nitrates in different buildings, further away.

Hahahaha

If you had happened to be in the area when the building started burning, and all that you had were your two legs for transportation, then you would likely could have gotten a mile away within less than 20 minutes (if you were so out of shape that you could only walk), but just getting 5 football fields away might have been enough, if you were able to take cover (or lie flat on the ground in the middle of a park/or the other side of a building that did not end up falling down) at the time of the explosion, perhaps?

I don't know why exactly but I find it a thing of beauty how BTC hovers around 10k euro. Maybe because I know it should be so short lived and will result in a violent reaction either up or down.

Dude. Very few explosions mankind humankind has yet devised are more brissant than ANFO.

Perhaps you're right and it was indeed ammonium nitrate. My point was more that there's a high level of skepticism in 'how it happened and why' rather than what was used. It certainly looks controlled as a single blast.  Surely the timing and location of such a critical blow is suspicious.

Edit: This was meant for the lulz! Actually I do like Wikipedia, IIRC I've even donated some money to them (a long time ago). Not sure if they have a hidden agenda and all that conspiracy theory stuff, but I do enjoy their articles. In science/technology subjects (which I'm mostly interested in) they are OK.

That shockwave blast, sheesh. Feel bad for this couple on their wedding day. Definitely something they'll remember forever.

I saw this in the thread though... ?

"These arrests/cases have all happened over the last year or two, not the last 24 hours. "

https://twitter.com/SubtleBodhi/status/1290500293893844997

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_M._Cohen

2008 for that one. Plenty more where that came from.

It's interesting that most of the political figures mentioned in the above Twitter thread are republicans.

It reminded me of a documentary I once watched, where it was mentioned that a US cable TV survey revealed that the overwhelming majority of hardcore adult channel subscriptions came from neighborhoods occupied by predominantly republican, church-going families.

An interesting correlation...

correlation to what?  Stupidity?  Free porn is plentiful on the internet - why would anyone pay for a cable subscription?

Lol. The profits that can be realized with certain alts are much larger than BTC will ever give you....no I have been here since 2011 however my original account was hacked in 2016 when the database leak happened. LBC, HIVE are currently being slept on. Mark my words.

I donated as well but it's not practical to donate everytime you change your location. I read history/political/science subs and I find first 2 subjects ridiculously biased.
