It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Come back in January my colleagues
My magic wand says we bottom around $13 -15k but it may take a couple of weeks to fall that far.
Seconded, although I think it will be $15k rather than $13k Anywhere between 16K (almost achieved) and 12K (or so, less likely) is possible. The question is: when to deploy the cashola. Please don't tell me to DCA, not my style, apart from smallish moves. EDIT: on the other hand, Pomp going on TV and blabbering about 100K and above is usually the sign of the local top. He did the same in Dec 2017, confidently predicting 40K. I like the guy, but he is no trader.

https://twitter.com/100trillionUSD/status/1331884814102900737"The Netherlands implemented these laws 2 weeks ago. You now have to screenshot your wallet when withdrawing bitcoin from Dutch exchanges, easy but annoying. Make sure you vote people in power that protect property rights and bitcoin, and remove people who don't protect freedom." If these new regulations actually are imposed by Lame Duck Donald's henchmen then so what, its a nothing burger, just screen shot your wallet and call it a day. Are they serious? Screenshots!? Just after I inadvertently got into a flamewar over this, too. What is that supposed to achieve, which privacy-raping your wallet with a statement of tx data would not? Why does everyone use screenshots? PSA: Screenshots are trivial to fake. A screenshot is no better proof than a quote; and a quote is much easier to read. If your word can be trusted about the authenticity of a screenshot, then you can be trusted to provide a quote—whereas if a quote from you is untrustworthy, then so is a screenshot! The above is a real screenshot, not “Photoshopped”. I produced it with minimal effort by editing the actual webpage, using my browser’s developer tools. Thus, it looks perfect; and nonexistent graphical modifications cannot be detected. That is also how I conveniently crafted a parody of Jihan’s infamous “fuck your mother” tweet. For the sake of ocular health and safety, and to avoid a false sense of security, please stop using screenshots in situations whereby a visual depiction is not required. Thank you. inb4 Craig Wright uses screenshots to “prove” to idiotic regulators that he controls Satoshi’s wallet.

Come back in January my colleagues
My magic wand says we bottom around $13 -15k but it may take a couple of weeks to fall that far.
Seconded, although I think it will be $15k rather than $13k Or UP soon-ish Hahahaha Right now, as I type, we seemed to have bounced to the precipice of no man's land (whatever that means?)... So, we are bouncing in a $16,500 to $17,400 price range.. and of course, such range could continue, become broader or become narrower... and I am thinking that this could serve as a decent launching off range to test the resistance before actually passing through no man's land. Yeah, right.. we were in no man's land for a bit more than a week, so surely some people may have started to believe that we had successfully broken through the last resistance before no man's land.. and hey.. it is a problematic thesis to flippantly presume that we would break through three resistance points in a row ($12k-ish, $13,880 and $17,250) and not to revisit any of those break-throughs in order to sort out the battle and in order to sort through being really ready for UPpity. Sure, I don't claim to be any kind of genius when it comes to figuring out where we might go in the short term, but I do NOT consider it unreasonable to have to sort some of this price discovery (battle) out before we are actually ready to convincingly and decisively move through no man's land. In other words, you don't simply pass through no man's land without some kind of prior battle or preparation.. that is my current thinkenings. Take it for what it is worth, since I don't claim to know any tingilie. Or UP soon-ish
More likely. 2017 started with 1000$-ish price while previous ATH was 1200. Now the previous ATH is almost 20k and we have already reached 19k. I expect January start at well over 19k too, which may not give it too much time for falling. I would not get too caught up on specific timelines that you believe that battles have to happen or have to end... but hey, do what u like. In other words, previous patterns might give some great ideas about what is possible, what is likely, or what is more probable, but we can become way too much slaves to the pattern if we expect them to play out with any kind of precision.. even if in the longer run they end up coming to nearly exactly where we had expected them to come. In udder words, king daddy no likey to be put in a box and told what to do.

First interesting story I've read on Coindesk in a while, regarding some previously unreleased emails between Hal Finney and Satoshi - including some "curious timestamps" analysis: In the January 2009 emails, Satoshi’s time zone appears to be eight hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). If you assume he actually was Japanese as his handle suggested, one might assume this reflects his ancestral land. However, Japan was nine hours ahead of GMT at the time. Even more intriguing is that somehow Finney’s email server had received both emails before Satoshi’s email server, which presents a conundrum https://www.coindesk.com/satoshi-nakamoto-hal-finney-emails
