So...one senator that has a lot of pro bitcoin legislation ready to go is now excited that there is a second pro bitcoin senator.

Out of 100 senators.

A fun little thought experiment for today... What if Bitcoin was valued at a level that it could be used to represent the value of all houses in the world.

One reasonable estimate of the number of houses (homes) in the world is 1,500,000,000.

21,000,000/1,500,000,000 = 0.14BTC would be the average home price.

Let's assume an average house price of $50k USD.

$50,000/0.14 = $357k bitcoin, or $0.85 per satoshi.

It would be inconceivable, if Bitcoin continues to be a store of value, that it would not reach this very conservative, and modest market cap.  (75 trillion)

I keep seeing this everytime the mempool goes empty. A huge jump of 1 sat transactions over a matter of seconds. Does anyone know why? Is it perhaps a organisation that has thousands of addresses full of dust or something?

I like that you are thinking of reasonable non-adversarial reason for this.  I immediately go to Roger Ver or someone attacking the network.

proudhon is the new roach.. or the old one. at least one with the most OG account too. I guess, our new resident troll and bearer of doom. Helps keep everything in perspective.

Es gab mal jemanden im Bitcoinland
Der war als Miner sehr bekannt
Der Preis er stieg so kräftig an
Sodass der Miner stark gewann

Die Gier in ihm wuchs immer weiter
Der Dummkopf stand auf seiner Leiter
Und er verlor seine Geduld sogleich
Sodass er niemals wieder wurde reich

Out of 100 senators.

Well one is in the senate,

and

the other is in the house of representatives.

The house has 435 members.

So  they appear to have 2 out of 535 (if you add up all the members).

Better than zero, no?

Today on my timeline I’m seeing so much positive news about Bitcoin. What’s so special?

Is now the time.

For example: what are you seeing?

OT: A few of the pleebs out there have taken the red pill, and are starting to figure it out.  Wink

"I think I have figured out what is going on with treasuries and reverse repo. Why do banks want treasuries? It’s not that treasuries are valuable assets, but because they can leverage it by reusing it multiple times. They can’t leverage on cash, but they can leverage, perhaps 10:1 on treasuries. [Yes, treasury rehypothication!]

Combine this with FED's buying treasuries and the rates keep going down. But the lower rates are only a sign of huge leverage. What do banks do with the leverage? They gamble on stocks or give it away on margin or real estate loans to gamblers. Basically, we are sitting on a ticking time bomb.

So, treasuries are not pristine collateral as some claim, but toxic waste which allow more, and more, and more gambling. This also explains why banks want reverse repo; it’s not that they have too much cash to handle as they say; it is to borrow treasuries so that they can do more leverage. Once you realize this, you understand all the recent behavior of the banks."
