I was told of a friend of a friend who lived on noodles and water for 1 month straight. And then he died. Not sure of the cause of death. Not sure if it was ramen either. If your seriously living on straight ramen you need to re-evaluate your life choices.

OT: Just got lucky capturing a meteorite (at least a good part of it) on one of the current frames of tonight's target, which is named "the monkey head nebula". This is quite rare, so worth a share

If your seriously living on straight ramen you need to re-evaluate your life choices. I remember the guy was of Asian origin and very poor. He went on a noodle spree, with the kind of noodles that cost around $0.10 per sachet (UK price!). When I was a student I remember once eating 3 or 4 such packs in one go, and then my body reacted to it, like I was really disgusted by the taste/smell of it. I never touched this stuff since. You are what you eat (and sometimes you are no more) as they say...

I was told of a friend of a friend who lived on noodles and water for 1 month straight. And then he died. Not sure of the cause of death. Not sure if it was ramen either. There's nasty, potentially lethal bacteria growing if you keep noodles or rice for days in warm environment. Best to put in the fridge after cooling down (post cooked). I saw a report a few months ago where an asian dude died because of a bowl of rice he kept in a pot with a lid for 8 days before eating it up. May be related. EDIT: Found a news article about it ("Fried Rice Syndrome"): https://nypost.com/2023/09/12/fried-rice-syndrome-death-is-freaking-out-tiktok-form-of-natural-selection/ Don't get triggered by the title, citing tiktok morons. Damn it, OOM, that's disgusting (and sad too). Living cooked pasta/food out of the fridge for 5 days and then eating it despite it tasting "different than usual" has got to deserve a Darwin award though... _____ Price is picking up nicely. Ramen can wait.

Health only gets worse, enjoy every minute you can.
Once your health is done money doesn't matter.
Money is overrated. Health and friends/family are what matter. You can make your own fun/happiness. Money and time are two things that aren’t appreciated until you run out of them. It’s easy to say money is overrated when you have a roof over your head and food on your plate. While I would agree that riches are overrated, money is a necessity in developed countries unfortunately. Without it, you might find your friends and family forget about you… Plenty of those stories in the homeless community. Money is good I have been middle class and not desperate for money for over 25 years. But at 67 time is very valuable far more than money. Also a good companion is really big on the list. 1+2 My choices are a tie for companion and time as first place. this is equating time as healthy time 3 Safe place for me and my companion to spend time together 4 Money

Another day in the books, UTC.
Just missed a 9th consecutive green daily candle. Oh well, time to start another streak.
Can't complain. The week just finished was a fine start to the post-ETF pre-halving mega-rally.
Go Bitcoin go.

Health -- Without it, nothing else matters at all. 2. Freedom -- Not being forced to do things you don't want. Money helps. And Bitcoin! 3. Creativity/productivity -- Being able to create things and contribute to the world in some way, i.e., leaving the world in a better state than how you found it. 4. Intellect -- Being able to witness, understand and be awed by the discoveries of science and the beauty of art. 5. Friends/family/partner -- This is last on my list. Over the years I've learned that humans are selfish creatures. Good friends/family/relationships are a blessing and should be cherished, but one must be strong enough to be able to deal with loss/betrayal and move on. Want, not need. Quality over quantity.

Sometimes I wonder: why I am in bitcoin? The answer kept changing during the last decade, but right now it is more or less to have an optionality to do or not do certain things. To work or not to work; to upgrade car/house, etc or not; having some "money" for medical emergencies, etc. EDIT: I am totally fine with a middle class living plus a couple of interesting vacations per year (outside of US). Or, maybe, those are even included in the current middle class modus operandi? EDIT2: Forgot to add: freedom is a great feature, of course...kind of taking it for granted, unconsciously.

To me 2 and 3 are subsets of 4. If you have mastered the mental aspect of life, you make your own freedom and creativity/productivity. As for #5, good friends and family are the only ones I consider. Just because someone shares DNA with you doesn't make them family. Would you trust them with your life if push came to shove?

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"
|
... But my account is older than yours.
Oh my bad... Huh! A 2014 newb... now that is special. And in that case...I bow down to you sir. I prefer lurker. I have been following this forum since 2013, and mainly this thread (90%~). I try to keep up to date. I find many people here interesting. It's a good place to get a feel for the market, and a summary of different news outlets often gets posted here. Got you beat. The only downside of lurking is I didn't get a hat. UP your posting game @Tweak25. Tell us about ur lil selfie - especially how it relates to dee cornz. Inquiring minds (and snoops like your truly, too) want to know. Are you some kind of forum police or sth? Yes but that is a voluntary position and a lot of people wish I would stop doing it. hahahahaha Self-appointed. Cool. ' ' the future for me and everyone else is death in under 125 years. Unfortunate statement of fact above. So I am more concerned about the next 20 years. 67 to 87 what is my future? What fun can I have in the next 20 years. What happened to 92? You already gave up another 5 years, in spite of your recent planks and all that mumbo jumbo? Don't leave "us" (perhaps royal, perhaps not) early. Another thing is that you probably better get the fuck busy enjoying ur lil selfie earlier rather than later, because you are at the point that deferred gratification is not going to age well.. pun intended. In udder words... TLDR: Get a grip and get busy , with dee funzies!!!!! #nohomoSometimes I wonder: why I am in bitcoin? The answer kept changing during the last decade, but right now it is more or less to have an optionality to do or not do certain things.
That is part of the explanation why you started out your bitcoin journey so whimpily, and sometimes regress back into such a mindset.
Then you realize later that bitcoin gives you more optionality than you thought to be within grasp.. Better late than never, and of course, even your relatively whimpily approach to bitcoin is still going to end up paying off quite greatly, especially compared to an overwhelming number of your peers who are likely still no coiners and might even just be thinking about bitc oin, and surely many of them are not really even thinking about bitcoin, so you still have a great lead over them, relatively speaking.. .since you have figured out the power and optionality that bitcoin provides and is likely to continue to provide.. even though you still have a tendency to want to relapse into your whimpiness. NOhomo.. seriously..
