There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

trying to figure out the inflation between Nov '21 and now.

All these calculators are totally bollocks ...2% a year or so...laughable..   someone knows an accurate calculator?

I was using this recently and it seemed ok to me, it appeared to use accurate annual price index data:

https://www.inflationtool.com

EDIT: Not particularly useful for part-years, however.

I have been telling a buddy since 40k every time it goes up 5k because I told him at 4k to grab all he can and he called me stupid.

Not sure he likes me anymore. Cheesy

I stopped telling anyone. But many people around me ask, and I help.

Some of them went full in.  Today one friend told me he just took a loan to buy more (Saylor-style).
Another one asked if it's time to sell.  Told him... buy when you can sell when you must.
Life is good

Haha, yup, but I'm rubbing it in.

I actually started telling him somewhere around $800 but just recently when we were at 4k  (what was that 2 yrs ago?) I told him LAST chance!

You probably don't have to rub in anything.  It surely rubs itself in like sandpaper when he sees the price...

....It rubs the lotion on its skin. It does this whenever it is told....

4k was exactly 4 years ago...

I'm on the same page.

I always did little proselitism, only talking to a few people who showed interest or "looked right" for this club. With one person in particular, I went overboard to explain DCA and suggesting specific exchanges, specific amounts and offering help. After some time, I asked "how's DCA going?" and the answer was "it's too late now". It must have been 2019 or 2020. Of course it wasn't too late at all. I said so, but you know how it goes.

So I have a question: is there a restrospecive DCA calculator online? I think I saw it once. What I mean is a page where you enter the initial date, the weekly/monthly/whateverly amount, and it shows what the result would be today?

I'd like to rub it in gently.

I really am hoping we shoot right past 69k and pop the 70k bubble in a few hours.

Yes.

Your wish will come true..  "We" (royal that is) cannot guarantee "within a few hours," but it can be guaranteed as coming soontm.

There. Fixed it.
You should have ended post with “your welcome” and seen if any “loosers” catch on….
Ha ha!  Wish I'd thought of that Smiley
I suppose I should not mock folks who bollocks up the English language in this here famous international thread. It may well not be their native spoken language, in which case, respect for being bilingual.
After all, my second language skills end at counting to 10 in French and saying “bonjour mon sewer”.

GO BITCOIN

I might be more bi-lingual than uie-pooie, since I know a longer expression in Spanish.

It has five (or four) words.

s o c k s

Sold a slice of wait for it Doge! 19 cents. next slice will be 29 cents.

Fuck uie pooie and ur lil doggie too, if you want fuck.. and also your dollars that you are proclaiming that you got for them, even though dollars are somewhat more related to the topic of this thread.. but the main hero of this thread is not dollars..

Guess who/what is the hero of this wee widdo thread?

Go on guess.

Well.  The last time that we were at $4k was right around the crashening of March 2020... .and then prior to that, we would have to go back to late 2018 and early 2019..  and the $4ks lasted for about 4 months in late 2018 and early 2019.

I did a quickie look at the 2019 charts, and we did not hit $4k in late 2019 - absent the March 2020 dippening in which we were in the $4ks only lasted around 6 days and it was only part of those days and not really in the lower $4ks except on March 13, 2020.

4k was exactly 4 years ago...

Time flies when you are having fun.

The last 4 years have been pretty good, relatively speaking, especially for any of us who had been in bitcoin and/or mostly established our position prior to 4 years ago.

On the other hand, anyone who might have had established their position at the top of the 2017 market and did not buy more BTC, those guys might have had suffered a bit in 2022, but if they continued to buy the whole time since 2017, they would be sitting quite pretty right now.

Even if a person from 2017 ONLY invested $100 per week over the last 7 years, he would have had invested right around $36,600 and he would have had accumulated right around 4.4623 bitcoin (currently valued at $306k, so profits on paper currently nearly 8.5x in profits).  Who's going to be complaining about those kinds of numbers for the BTC accumulator/HODLer?

Oh yeah, that's a total can of worms. Govt. inflation stats are about as reliable as a testimony from Prince Andrew. Shadowstats is pretty interesting if you have the time to delve into it: http://www.shadowstats.com/alternate_data/inflation-charts

could also be that we don't get to 69k yet.

if you are a (retard) trader it seems one of the safest bets to sell around the ATH. the probability is high that it will be at least tested once more before leaving for good...

I can live with staying at 68k for a while... quite enjoy these numbers... who isn't

We could probably ballpark it with around 15% to 20% per year and be fairly accurate.  Of course, it does not reflect equally across goods and services, which causes some confusion in regards to how each person might be affected based on the kinds of goods/services he consumes.

I have been telling a buddy since 40k every time it goes up 5k because I told him at 4k to grab all he can and he called me stupid.

https://dcabtc.com/

https://dcacryptocalculator.com/bitcoin?start_date=2022-11-15&finish_date=2024-02-18&regular_investment=100&currency_code=USD&investment_interval=weekly&exchange_fee=0.02

https://costavg.com/

I have used the first two, and sometimes you will need to manually correct the dollar values, but they tend to come out the same on the BTC values based on your inputed numbers.

They are pretty great "I told you so" tools, and they also work for the smug fucks who want to proclaim that they are making bank by trading BTC, shitcoins or other kinds of trading.  So we can point them out to DCA results and then ask them if whatever the fuck they were doing in regards to trading would have had beaten a fairly straight-forward DCA strategy... Of course, the longer the period, the less likely they would have beat it... especially if we start getting into 4 years or longer. .. unless of course, if they actually or more of an expert style trader, but expert style traders do not tend to pump their bullshit as if it were generally applicable to normies.

Of course many of us know that you can combine DCA and lump sum buying, so sometimes you would be able to beat DCA with a strict accumulation strategy that tends to buy more on the dips and maybe supplements with DCA at various points in time.

man i wish this all time high thingie hurries up and happens, i need to sleep tonight

You are speculating that it will be easier to sleep once "high thingie happens?"

I suppose if it stops then it might be "easier to sleep," but it is probably better that you suffer a bit.

We were in don't wake me up zone for a quite a long time, so why sleep while we are in bat country and "temporarily" going through hot butter zone?

could also be that we don't get to 69k yet.

That is called an "alternate" theory that may well NOT be applicable to kind daddy this time around.

I am not saying that I know anything.. but I got my own theories.   Tongue  see above or perhaps some of my other posts that may or may not clearly state my supposed theories

Although I will grant you that there seems to be a wee tiny bit more resistance than this here cat was expecting in these here parts, but there could be some desires (temporary efforts) to employ delay tactics to try to delay the inevitable in terms of trying to keep the price from going above the ATH.
