•Argentine President Javier Milei is set to meet Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson to discuss blockchain and crypto-currencies in the region.

Hopefully Milei is not so retarded as to follow the advices of such a high level scamster shitcoiner like Hoskinson.

[edited out]
I should preface this explanation with the following disclaimer: I am not a pharmacist.  That being said...

I am not a rabbi either.  So I am glad that "we" got those preliminaries out of the way.

- there is a really good chance to see the aurora but the problem is the sun doesn't always flare in the best direction to shower us in plasma... sometimes that's a good thing because we really don't want another Carrington event (although it would come with the best auroras ever) because that would likely plunge us into darkness for a long time... ain't nobody got time fo' dat.

I tend to agree that "we" don't want to be worrying about those kinds of things.  Some of our days might end up getting ruined.

I had thought that previously, I had heard reference to the "Carrington event" but it was not exactly top of mind, so your description caused me to ask myself (and google too), whether the Carrigan event was a kind of electromagnetic pulse (EMP), and I found an article that referred to the Carrington event as an extended EMP... which was enough for me to consider that having such an event may well have more negative than positive consequences, at least in the short-to-medium term for many folks... the very short term (oh how beautiful), the longer short term... Oh shit none of my electronics seems to work.

EDIT: did you guys read about some Canadian guy who had a round-trip going from 88K to 415 mil (  Cheesy ) and back down to essentially zero using TSLA calls and puts?
A strange story...he is suing RBC for, apparently, giving him a bad advice, whatever this means.

So 400 million wasn't enough?

He decided he needed a cool billion?

Just the opposite.

He wanted to pull most of his wealth out and put it into low-risk income generating securities but the bank, not wanting to cut off their steady influx of trading fees, kept pushing him to continue gambling.

He was ready to retire at the age of 30.

Hence the lawsuit.

Hey guys, I saw that they are going to release a program on HBO on October 8th, a documentary: Digital Money, The Mystery of Bitcoin, where supposedly the Satochi for them is Len Sassaman, supposedly it coincides with the publications here on the forum, what do you think? It will be good to see and interesting.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/man-sues-over-tesla-stocks-1.7343048

Well...that's probably his legal position, which I understand.
However, I am 99.99% sure that buying calls and selling puts, which is an extremely risky strategy, was not initiated by RBC...no way!

Once his account reached multiple millions, he probably engaged RBC and maybe asked for diversification.
RBC gave one stupid advice, though: to make charitable gifts that reduce taxes, which was incorrect in retrospect because if you lost everything, then there are no taxes if gain and loss occurred in the same year.

It beats me why even a few tens of millions were not extracted and put into cash/treasuries? When account value rises so fast, maybe it is psychologically difficult to do.
It is possible that they did not have time to implement diversification due to the nature of his positions that I am not privy to.
TSLA made an abrupt turn around in late 2021 and quickly plunged from 400 to 100, which was what probably nullified the value of his account.

Coming back to bitcoin: if the graph that @LFC_Bitcoin posted would turn out to be true and bitcoin doubles at some point from 120 to 240K within 2-4 weeks, how many would happily take profits instead of hodling?

IMHO, not many...as rapid gains are addictive.

......Coming back to bitcoin: if the graph that @LFC posted would turn out to be true and bitcoin doubles at some point from 120 to 240K within 2-4 weeks, how many would happily take profits instead of holdling.

IMHO, not many...as rapid gains are addictive.

Some guys take gains on the way up, and you don't have to be outrageous about how much gains you take on the way up.  Sure even some guys who take some gains on the way up may well feel bad if the BTC price drops and they might feel that they did not take enough on the way up, so then when the BTC price starts going back down, then they might feel trapped to not take gains on the way down when they should have had done so on the way up.

There is also the case that a mere doubling is not necessarily enough.  There were various points in both the 2017 price rise and also several points in the 2021 price rise that the BTC price doubled and kept going up... even though surely in the 2021 price rise we ended up having the BTC price come way back down below both the 200-WMA but also below the 2017 high..... which was not the case in the 2017 price rise.. so in the 2017 rise we had a wee bit more than 5 doublings.. if we start from $500-ish in late 2016..

1 = $1,000

2 = $2,000

3 = $4,000

4 = $8,000

5 = $16,000

so selling large portions of your stash after the first, second or third doubling would have had been a wee bit of trouble and even leaving you with less BTC since the price really barely got back below the 3 doubling when it finally did correct back down... so how are we going to know when the UPpity is going to stop, except not to get too overly excited by selling too much too soon.. which still can be accomplished with some levels of moderation in selling rather than going balls to the walls in regards to selling too much too soon.

 fuckin' Canuck

In the guy’s defense, 400 million moose shekels probably won’t have the buying power to do much for long. So you can’t blame him for trying to stack more with what’s coming down the line for our friends to the north. Blaming your own terrible trades on someone else isn’t the greatest strategy though. I imagine it won’t play out well for him.

i would argue i am not dead 💀 ranks a bit higher then not a no-coiner.

although plenty of not dead are miserable , some are also not a no-coiner

and all not a no-coiners are not dead since all dead own  nothing.

yeah some wise guy will say the dead persons estate has some ownership rights but fuck that wise guy for being a wise guy.
