Why everybody hate greed? Greed is an extension of survival. Everything alive is greed. If it looks like somebody is not greed, then look better.

Why bring that up?  Did anyone make a claim to hating greed?

Sold at 398, bought at 352 at Btc-e. May be going lower now but I was happy with my profits.

Same here! Sold at 403$ bought back at 356 (finex)... Nice to see not everyone here are screaming for sub 300 again just to get few bucks more  Smiley

I would have been screaming for sub 300, but the fall does not look to be strong enough. Happy with 350 for now.

Sometimes you have to withhold your greed to become part of a group. A group can often be more effectively greedy than individuals  Smiley

I bet at least one of our beloved exchanges is running on fractional reserve and flood the market with virtual coins. Not even the dumbest noob traders can be that dumb, seriously wtf.

the one with 20 mil in USD swaps?

14,000 more bitcoin were market sold than market bought so far today on Bitfinex alone. Where do all this coins come from?

maybe you should ask that houbi guy who was flashing with 10k buy wall.

^Lunatic, from Latin "luna" [moon].

1.  mentally ill (not in technical use).
extremely foolish, eccentric, or absurd.
"he would be asked to acquiesce in some lunatic scheme"

Yeah, just a coincidence Cheesy

Most brilliant people are crazy.  Most crazy people aren't brilliant.  Because not biconditional.

I think the point of that promo is that brilliance is often seen as madness early on.  I didn't see any suggestion that there was a bijective mapping between the set of madmen and the set of geniuses, but thanks for pointing out the obvious.

My point is much simpler than the promo's:  Comparing the insanity of the inspired to the greed-driven lunacy of the money changers is silly.

Did I make that comparison?  You lost me...

Unless you were trying your hand at non-sequiturs when you posted that link, yes.

I don't think so.  You accused someone of lunacy (apparently because they profess a different view than you).  I posted a link to a short film whose thesis is that sometimes people who seem to be crazy may actually turn out to be just taking a path not familiar to you - may even be brilliant, who knows.  I don't see any non-sequitur there.

You're comparing the exceptional, inspired people in the iPromo to petty money speculators--minds fouled by by untempered greed.
And now you're suggesting I can't tell muddled stupidity from brilliance.  Gimme a break, bro.

Again, I made no such comparison.

Again, either you tried for parallels between the people in this thread and the iPromo people, or the link was a non-sequitur.

So let me get this right, you can more or less buy "pretend" bitcoins and short or long them, and they dont even need to exist?

If that is the case, then I am far from happy with this practice, for one, that is what Gox was doing, and second, this is nothing more than what banks are already doing.

Think about it... if you run an exchange then as long as your inflow (deposit) + trading profits are greater than your outflow (withdraws) then you can do the fuck you want with your db.

In order to dump coins one must have coins

Good question, even shorts are covering and cashing in at these levels yet the dumping continues. Lots and lots of coins being liquidated. Think that's the downside of being criminals favorite currency, lots of coins were stolen, and those stolen coins get dumped at whatever price.

As a solution somehow need to convince hackers to be hodlers

I didn't say anything about 'the people in this thread'.

AGAIN: You made a statement based on the posting of an individual stating basically that that person was a lunatic, apparently because you disagreed with the viewpoint that person was expressing.  I posted a link to a video that points out that maybe one should think twice before making such an accusation.

It's ok that you misunderstood.  I forgive you.  Please do stop telling me what I meant, though, and just read what I have written.

I sincerely apologise for trolling the troll (but I will continue to troll nlC from time to time)  I am not usually a total troll... I am a little miffed that NLC has been given a free reign to troll away, all very well ignoring the poor little dear, but that does not seem to cut the mustard when the brat keeps trolling and trolling and trolling and trolling, week after week after week after week with the same ol tired disingenuous shyte.

There's no need to apologize, you're only hurting yourself (and the mod who's got to come around and delete this stuff later).

The thing is, you're not being funny, you're being condescending, which means you're feeding him. It doesn't help your case that your post suggests you are frustrated with him, which encourages him further. Even if you don't believe that, he will, and that's all he needs for encouragement if he's a troll.

If you think they're a troll, ignore them. Pretty simple stuff. Otherwise you're just contributing to the spam, and to their enjoyment.

I think I will ignore that... (joke)

Hmm.. I am not hurting myself at all, and yes I am being condescending, very very much so... that is the whole point.

I do not think lambchop is a troll, I know he is, we all do.

I admit I find lambchop irritating, who would not? the only thing that would actually help  would be for him to go for a long walk on a motorway somewhere, apart from that I have no case, apart from maybe it would be nice to have a conversation on this thread without not lambchops, meaningless, pointless, disingenuous, little bits of tat every one or two posts, that is right every one or two posts..   and frankly I think some of the ribs I have given lambchop, have been quite amusing, maybe not your humor but each to their own.   I am well aware what a troll is, and I am well aware I am trolling a troll which is kind of pointless, but it will have no effect on if he stops or not, and you are free to ignore me, I do actually contribute from time to time (less and less these days, because, well.. becoming more and more pointless, because of people like nlc and the KKK clan)

Point is, little lambie has already been off his game recently, and I am not sure he likes me talking about doing things to his mum.... which as I say is a little reward, and frankly ignoring him, is great apart from he keeps going... pissing all over this thread and over any real discussion... that is the whole point.

I would prefer that a newb looking at this thread, sees me and everyone else handing NLC's own ass to him on a regular basis tbh, we all tried to be nice about it, we all tried to ignore it, but the little  dipshit keeps going, and the most annoying thing is 9/10 what he says makes no sense and is not in context...

I really could not give a hoot about nlc, but I had started to grow quite fond of this thread in someways... and now.. well.. not so much, it is like the notlambchop show, and frankly that is not funn or entertaining..

I will most likely delete my own posts...

Everyone is free to ignore me or lambchop or free to continue to lap up lambchops bs, up to them at the end of the day... the Bitcoin price is nto doing much so I decided a little bit of lambchop bashing would be fun for a little bit.

thanks for the advice, but I think I have got this.

I think one central point is that even if NOT NotPorkchops goes away, there will be several more to take his place.. so in the end, can't really deter them (except maybe through ignoring most posts).  I agree with your sentiment that every once in a while it may be good to point out how full of shit NOT NotPorkchops and his ilk are...

But, sometimes I should NOT speak b/c from time to time, I am guilty of similar kinds of engaging with posters who are obviously either trolls or extremely disingenuous.

...

So, tell me where I lose you:

1. You claim that I have accused someone in this thread of lunacy.
2. You suggest that I "should think twice before making such an accusation,"
3. punctuating your point with a video link.
4. The people in the vid. are in no way analogous to the people in this thread, as you readily concede.

5. Begging the question:  WTF is the point of the vid?

The selling pressure is remarkable. But so is the buying pressure.

I think this is just a few big players closing longs in anticipation of a drop in to double digits. But I still dont see that happening before $500+...

So, they will exhaust themselves, then the buyers get into a major bulltrap, and then the price plummets and these sellers look smart.

more than 13 fucking million BTC in existence ? didn't you think about this ? if you don't know how to use your Bitcoin daemon, Bitstamp makes it easy for you

1000 or 5000 or even 30000 are not huge compared to 13 million BTC

This may be the bottom for today (can be, after all...). But in general, today movement signal to me that this is still a bear market, and who know where it is going to stop. Below 300 seemed impossible a month ago, yet we have seen what happened...
