Just keep your bitcoin in your trusted bitcoin wallet it can be web wallet hardware wallet etc. Keeping your bitcoin was really a great idea because its really a good investment because price is going up fast and we cant even make that profit in working i guess investing earlier is the best.

Yes that's true. I also used online bitcoin wallet for a long time and there's no problem with me on thus wallet.
It's like you save your money in a bank but bitcoin value will go up and down but it's good because bitcoin now has high value than before.

I am also the same, I also only use bitcoin wallet online for several years and there is no problem with it, maybe because of the small amount or indeed the security of my account I tighten. But the important thing is we have to lock our account as safe as possible and use trusted and legit bitcoin wallet online

I keep my bitcoin in exchange site, i just learned bitcoin and learn trading, bitcoin i also still a little so i think as beginner is quite safe if in the meantime i keep my bitcoin on exchange website, maybe if already have enough bitcoin i will use hardware Wallet
Yes, when in the beginning I liked keep bitcoin in the exchange wallet, but after I reviewed and heard advice from experiences member, I moved to offline wallet (electrum). I also recommend to use exchanger wallet for transaction only (not for long term).

I keep my bitcoins and altcoins on a offline wallet, i like to control and know what's happening with them (really)..and i think it's more secure and comfortable than online wallets.  Wink

Well yeah, the question seems like funny right? But I guess your  answers looks funnier. Yeah everybody seems knows the best way to keep their BTC except you.  Just don't be offended but
How can people assure that this service you mentioned are in high security? You mentioned an exchange  rather a wallet for coinbase and an account rather than wallet also for Xapo. You can't even control your private keys of this two so how?

keeping bitcoin online wallet or hardware wallet is a matter of choice as for me I prefer online wallet due to it flexibility that is I can navigate to my e-mail address before opening the wallet and all it's security features are well secured. Although I hope that such a site should not crash then my bitcoins will be endangered.

Though I store my bitcoin on online wallet (blockchain most if it), but thanks to this forum that made me to understand that it is not safe and having a desktop or paper wallet is better. Still trying to decipher which to use though.

I also used to store my coins on such a purse. I did not even think that it could be dangerous. Now I have a chance to change the storage location of my coins for a more reliable

I have all my coins in on an online trading site (paxful) (low volume)

I plan on making a large investment very soon, and want to safely store all of my coins
I.E I basically want to drop a couple thousand, and keep them in the safest possible way, where I can revisit them in 5-10 years or so and reap the benefits, or cry about the loss.

What is the best way to do this, and what's the best way of ensuring a backup?

How do you currently store your coins

thanks in advance for any inputs

In online storage of coin? For me it not good to keep coin in online your security is not safe it is better to put your coin in bank. It's better to invest your coin in bank and it is safe and for five to ten years investing coin in the bank it is sure that you earn a return of investment (ROI) for long term of investment within this period of time.

I keep my bitcoins on a offline wallet which I keep just to store, otherwise I have my bitcoins on localbitcoins(low volume) in case i'm outside and need some money in my bank account. It works very well for me and I'm very happy with it as of now. Smiley
I keep my bitcoin on an online wallet. I use online wallet because I think my bitcoin is totally secure and safe and no ones will try to stealth it. Having online wallet is nice and many bitcoin users use it to store their bitcoin.

I also do this. I keep it in an offline wallet because i think it is more secured. And i do not store all of my money in bitcoin, only a certain partition is my requirement. And pf course I need physical money for my everyday needs. What you are doing is highly recommended especially for those who are getting serious in btc.

I have no problems storing it in exchanges, since it's pocket change comparing to others.
So yes, I usually daytrade at polo, recently moved to kraken.

For other payments I use blockchain.info in a clean and secure VM box on linux.

currently using blockchain.info wallet, since I don't trade with huge amounts of bitcoin and I'm keeping it safe as much as I can and also, as soon as I recieve the bitcoin, I trade it asap for fiat so I barely have anything on my wallet right now. Smiley
I keep my bitcoin in online wallet because I know that my bitcoin is safe and secure. If you have an online wallet you can use it to pay bills and buy the things in the online market using your bitcoin in your wallet. Having online wallet is nice to all bitcoin users because they can deposit their bitcoin easily.

I hope that one day when you wake up, you will see all of your bitcoin disappear and you will send a thousand support ticket to the website and you will still receive nothing from them. Then, you will regret for using online wallet because they are all deceivers and robbers

Are you serious if all online wallets are robbers? Because I only heard few complaints from some people who lost their coins or money on their wallets, but to my knowledge those who lost their money said they lost their coins because they were hacked.
