I'm incredibly bullish with what is happening during the last hours.

Adié, MtGox.

We won't miss you.

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)
Hashfast.org - Wiki for screwed customers

They do not claim the bug is "hereto unnoticed".  They even claim it is a known design issue.

Yes, I see that now. Even so, this looks to have been addressed in almost every other client/service, and the fact they left it until their withdrawals were crippled to do something about it just seems like laziness.

"Unanticipated bugs don’t come with year-old wiki pages fully documenting them. Gox is full of shit"

"There’s no “new bug". This has been known since 2011 and only incompetent bunch of clowns would based withdrawal refunds on it"

"If Bitcoin Foundation’s mission is to promote bitcoin, then Karpeles should resign or be kicked out for violating mission"

I didn't even know he was on the board. I agree with Andreas, he should be booted out immediately.

My theory :

MTGox doesn't have enough BTC to do all the BTC withdraw that were asked.
They blocked the BTC withdraw for that reason and will keep them blocked until the BTC/$ price goes down enough so they can buy back the BTC they need.
Once they have the BTC needed, they will allow the BTC withdraw again.

Or they only now found out that someone was actually abusing this bug that THEY didn't care to fix and have transfered more btc then they should have.

I really don't think they are going out of business though, with 100K's in USD trade fees alone every day they should have some reserves. That said, no one should ever trust them again.

At this point Mtgox should just die... I took huge loss because of their BS, an IT engineer cannot blame his programming fails on the whole protocol, I said this before and I will repeat it again, Gox engineers are a shame for IT and the whole Bitcoin community... and not trading at this shitty platform didn't save me from its effect, they effected the whole system and at this point I am so pissed that I wish if they shut down then we will all have a peaceful life after....

Yes I agree in that its over all they are doing is prolonging the inevitable bankrupt announcement  while giving people hope that is no longer there.  Mt gox is a filthy criminal at this point by not admitting insolvency and letting people hope they can still get moneys off. Meanwhile they have charged me 25 percent markup on jan 27 and since that time bitcoin dropped from 825 to  650 on other exchanges  , mt gox and its owners are filthy scumbags indeed.

Baaaaaawwwwwww you were hoping for an investment which is risk-free and you did not get it, cry some moar yank.

How 'bout the person that got some cheap btc on btc-e today. Went down to $102 for a minute. Not sure how big the orderbook on btc-e is (or was) but it must have been a lot of coins!

<dadfoundmy_> @gmaxwell any ETA on things will be legitmatly fixed?
<gmaxwell> dadfoundmy_: talk to mtgox.
<gmaxwell> Because there isn't anything to give an ETA on elsewhere.

Gox is just buying time. When Mark was pressed on irc to implement a quick fix/ temporary solution to process btc withdrawals , he said he wants the fix to be standard on bitcoin client so he doesn't have to re-code again. Wow, a lazy Schmuck or big liar!

How Ripple Rips you: "The founders of Ripple Labs created 100 billion XRP at Ripple's inception. No more can be created according to the rules of the Ripple protocol. Of the 100 billion created, 20 billion XRP were retained by the creators, seeders, venture capital companies and other founders. The remaining 80 billion were given to Ripple Labs. Ripple Labs intends to distribute and sell 55 of that 80 billion XRP to users and strategic partners. Ripple Labs also had a giveaway of under 200 million XRP (0.002% of all XRP) via World Community Grid that was later discontinued.[29] Ripple Labs will retain the remaining 25 billion"

yeah why would he want to help his customers who have had their withdrawls stuck for weeks.  Better to let people wait for weeks and weeks more while bitcoin tanks  after already paying 25 percent markup fat pos.
