Can Bitcoin be used by ordinary citizens?

I don't think it's going to be possible in the least for someone living their everyday life to use bitcoin at all the stores and such that they use. That's besides the fact of the issues that the bitcoin network faces due to the intense amount of people that are using it now, which doesn't even stack up to the amount of people that are in the world today.

Imagine trying to sell the idea of someone using some digital currency to buy a Coffee which is $5.00 and they're going to have to pay 10 percent (.50 cents) To the network in order to get the transcation to go through in a timely fashion (still not instant)

This person is simply going to ask why can't they use their credit card, debit card, cash, or anything along the lines of that which is going to be an instant done and finished right there.

Point accepted. The average Joe and Jane prefer to use cash or debit/credit cards to do their shopping. Even many crypto traders and investors prefer to hold on to their bitcoin as use it as an investment and not as a currency. But there are few people who promote bitcoin as a currency to outsiders.

I do feel that in the next 10 years or so, we can see a change in this trend and more new people will join the bitcoin network and do more transactions with it.

I fully agree with your opinion. And I think that the idea of ​​replacing real money with bitcoin is no more than a fairy tale. Simple citizens will not strain their brains to use bitcoin. They have enough problems. I'm not talking about the poor layers of the population.

yeah, I was an ordinary person who uses bitcoin for profit. moreover, in this digital era that I think everyone can use bitcoin. We all had to start somewhere. Bitcoin isn't that complex where there's zero newbs who couldn't operate it within the hour. Bitcoin could be used offline and even in real life so later on in the years there should be 3/10 people that already know what Bitcoin is. If anyone knows how to do basic math then sending Bitcoins and receiving Bitcoins should be an issue at all because it's pretty much about punching numbers into a Bitcoin client.

I could see where you're coming from though Bitcoin could also be used if a real rich individual decides on making a loaning business and having the payment listed as another thing instead of the name "Bitcoin". By doing that, the rich individual would have people from everywhere in the world using Bitcoin even if they don't have Internet access. It's kind of hard to explain so I am not sure if you understand what i'm trying to write.

If we are talking about ordinary citizens, it is understanding will play a major role in their relationship to bitcoin. I can not imagine my old people who use bitcoin. They did not even know how to interact with the Internet. And there are at least half of the population on the planet. I'm not talking about children and people from the suburbs.

That's why it is very easy to learn if you are that willing. And I know most of the "ordinary citizens" nowadays are into technology, the only people that doesn't have knowledge in internet those who are living in a very poor country who strive to fight with famine. But in sum up, people can't live without technology so it will be easy for them to adopt and use bitcoin.

No, it can't be used by ordinary citizens (atleast, NOT often). Bitcoin doesn't scale, so it only supports a very low number of transactions. Plus, the fees are very high, so ordinary people can't buy ordinary junk with it, the fees alone would cost more than a coffee, for example. The way it is bitcoin is not made for the average user, but for speculators and for those who want to move big amounts of value/money.

Also it is not about being rich. We as small investors can make a great impact in bitcoin. What would one person do with a lot of bitcoins if only him will be using it. It needs to be scattered and to be know by people in order for it to be really seen as a usable currency. But in bitcoin it is not forced unlike with fiat. That is one of the problem. So we need them to be willing to risk it.

Bitcoin is usually used by people interested in technology. I mean, persons with a certain technical knowledge are interested in bitcoin.

My observations are that way. I think Bitcoin needs to reach larger quantities. Can use bitcoin in people who are not interested in technology?
Can people use the bitcoin in the profession group like tradesmen, teachers, housewives, firemen, butchers? Are we going to see the days that these people use bitcoin?

It would be like any technology before it.  It's first adopted by the tech community and requires skill to use, like computers for example.  When computers first came out, they weren't for everyone, just the tech savvy crowd that had interest in it.  Monitors could only display text.  Then it went mainstream with a GUI that shows files, folders and applications differently than a dos type of interface.  And now with tablets or phones you simply press or swipe a screen with your hand and any 3 year old seems to get the hang of it very easily as it's more intuitive.  I'd expect cryptocurrencies to go the same way.  Where you have NFC tap on your phone, or a credit card, that would work from a user perspective, the exact same way a credit card does.
