So a NanoFury USB stick appears to be a better deal for US anyway.

0.4BTC for 2 gh/s = 0.2 BTC/Gh/s = 5 GH/s/BTC

or is my math wrong?

That .4BTC is for ASSEMBLY ONLY..........NO CHIP  Wink

"stage 1: Pre-order at 0.4BTC per NF1 device or 0.2BTC per device for assembly-only service. Closes Oct 1."

i had the chips running at 4ghash in my test setup.
With a proper board more could be possible, more testing is needed.
And like i said the actual costs did increase.

Burnin I really respect your hard work and amount of time and energy you puted from the start on developing, but with all due respect this is a total rip-off, they have to work out their prices  for what is best for all parties, otherwise we are not going to do business with them
Burnin, just a thought but isn't the answer here to let free market competition police the pricing?

Have you agreed exclusivity to CryptX or are you open to other distributors provided they can meet minimum volumes?

If you found this useful modest tips welcome BTC: 15noAopoPUcA4D4dTJihgDVE8axZh8VWia

More details on the refunds:
Shipping - 100%
VAT - will be calculated and refunded partially
Power supplies - 100%
BitBurner Boards - 50%
Stacking Cables - 50%

New thread for BitFury related questions: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=283992.new#new
Does this still hold up, or did burnin decide to go back on his word and take the entire order as the calculation basis?

The wording from the cryptx newsletter sounds a lot like this  is the case.
Quote
50% Refund of your entire order by mid-October

refunding....

Don´t  forget, you ordered a special product, only produced for you with your chips.
Burnin odered and payed all the things needed for the production, developed the board, worked hard day and night for months.

And now, you didn´t deliver the chips to him in time.

Why should he give you any refund? You did´t fullfill the contract.

Think about this.

I'm not even complaining about any of his refund conditions. Even if I was, I am aware that I really couldn't do much about it. I just don't like when when someone says one thing and then does something else and I want clarification whether that is the case here or not.

When I get all this right, Burnin stated his first price before Bitfury raised the price for their chips by 50%

no concerns about these special items. It is just burnins repeated statement of 70% refund which doesn't fit to cryptx statement.
And concerning all those parts, which are not made with the chips (including shipping) is the question.
Burnin stated refunding these in full. There should be a clear statement from cryptx, too.

cheers

That is still only euro 360 for the chips.  Let the board + assembly cost another Euro 120 - Euro 150 -
That's Euro 510 tops.  How to you arrive at Euro 799 just for taking orders and shipping, and that price
is net of VAT and shipping costs.  Cryptx wants to slap another Euro 289 just for that???

check this out guys:

We can surely do that.

We are very busy making all arrangements for the deployment of the first 20 TH/s.

The design of the board is finished, some tests with a full prototype are still left to do. This is a final check that has to be done before we order all the boards. We could already order the PCB’s now, but we want to make 100% sure there are no mistakes made there.

The Bitfury chips we have ordered are ready to be picked up this Friday! We will have them perfect on schedule.

In the meantime we are also setting up our datacenter, so everything is ready when the assembled boards arrive.

We will be back with more info shortly.

I guess this explain the prices.... simply they wont sell if we wont buy... they don't give a shit about what we think as long as they can mine and fill their pockets

Ahh, now I think I understand why burnin chose to use these guys. I think I remember reading somewhere that he'd managed to get the job of designing the PETA-MINE hardware on the back of his excellent work in the BitburnerXX.

Still sucks that cryptx are probably making more per board than burnin is Angry. One of the things that I really liked about the Bitburner project was that you saw it grow and evolve and you knew that your BTC was going to the guy who put all the hard work in to make the project happen. I also had the feeling that burnin's margin on that project was pretty conservative, given all of his effort. Anyway, we've got bitsyncom to blame for all of this really.

Bitcoin can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards.

This is very odd. So CryptX gets cheap supply from Burnin for his own project and the rest of the community gets higher prices? Does CryptX even care about this mess here? Probably not, he has its own project.

So sad that Burnin quit selling to the community.

Edit:
Ahh, now I think I understand why burnin chose to use these guys. I think I remember reading somewhere that he'd managed to get the job of designing the PETA-MINE hardware on the back of his excellent work in the BitburnerXX.

It seems almost like Burnin is now the exclusive supplier of cryptx Sad
