I believe the bare pcb's were never in stock since burnin makes more money when he assembles the pcb's. And most await assembled boards. I guess the bare pcb's will be available after a timeframe only. At least not before the big rush is over or until he opens his design as open source i guess.

And the samples weren't intended for that Wink

Thats right, but if someone ordered enough he can do what he want with them. And, as far as i see, i sent many samples to developers. Enought to test and develop many designs. To be exact:

20   burnin
3   bcdev
5   marto74
4   daemondazz
11   flyonwall
2   szym00
4   innovina
4   hf_developer
4   evilscoop
8   sensei
2   DaGreatRV
2   villex
2   strombom
2   aauer1
3   RamirezX
2   dimka890

Only the devs/assemblers...

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

And the samples weren't intended for that Wink

Sure they were. The samples were intended for us to do test runs on the assembly of PCBs as well as development of new ones. This would include the assembly only people who are using the avalon gtihub designs as clones. As I stated in my last post, after seeing this final burnin design Im ready to concede that his is about as good as it gets. The full EMC tests he did were the final straw. You can't really compete with that level of professionalism. I'll be honest about this. Most developers would now do well to give up board development and focus on assembly of the three proven designs (Avalon, burnin, Bkk). Having multiple people who can assemble these boards is not a bad thing and should be encouraged. It will help cut down on wait times for everyone. Using leftover sample chips to prove board assembly ability early on is a good use of chips right now.

I believe the bare pcb's were never in stock since burnin makes more money when he assembles the pcb's. And most await assembled boards. I guess the bare pcb's will be available after a timeframe only. At least not before the big rush is over or until he opens his design as open source i guess.
As far as having blank PCBs for sale burnin has always said that they will be available in bulk right away. This can be found in his first post on the first page of this thread. He still makes a good profit on these at 25 Euros each. Its the full open source design that won't be released untill the first miners are shipped. He made this clear in a later post and it sounds fair because he needs a window of exclusivity to recoup development costs and secure a reasonable profit.

My concern was with the fact that when I finally got to see the sales website, the PCBs seem to have been for sale and were already sold out. I was ready to buy. Im hoping burnin could let us know if he will have more of these printed soon and what the time frame on delivery is.

Burnin also was going to offer a built board missing only the chips for an easy semi-diy build (just insert chips, reflow, and go). I did not see this as an option on the website. I was wondering if this will still be offered and at what price.

Yes, he wrote that he will offer bare pcb, but since i was in the shop nearly right after the start and it was "sold out" i think he wont will sell them from the start. So he will sell them, only not from the start. I might be wrong.
As far as i saw he only had these offers: full board, assembled board without heatsink and fans (heatsink can be bought for 10€) and bare pcb which was out of stock. Then there were some other offers with watercooling only.

i got 30 chips, should i order 10+20 or 10+10+10? is there a downside with either?

Clearly the price...

The 10 chip version may give you higher overclocks (>450mhz) because there is extra headroom on the regulators (20 chips at 450 is nearing max current of board). It'll probably get lower temps too. But it'll cost more.

With great video cards comes great power consumption.

Right, just like overclocking cpus and gpus there's a good bit of luck involved.

But then why list them at the launch under the label "Sold Out".

I think you might be underestimating the buying power of a few select members of this forum. There were a few people on here that purchased full 10,000 chip orders before zefir purchased his first batch, which have already shipped out. They need a lot of PCBs for their chips and I can see even just one of these buyers taking 1,000 boards or more in one order. Paid for in bitcoins of course. Im sure burnin himself will let us know what happened to the PCBs soon.

Yes, i know that those buyers exist. You know the address where avalon collect the chip batch payments? It has to be many private buyers with deep pockets.
I doubt that there were many people able to finalize their orders at all because of the basket problems. When i think about it... the pcb's are bare, without any parts (at least thats what burnin told me for my dev-list (sig)). That means a buyer of bare pcb's cant do anything with it without knowing the parts used. And those parts arent public yet am i wrong? So a buyer only could start with assembly once burnin opened his design. And this can take long, which means a risk. Then those buyers need to order the parts and so on. Its too much risk and waiting time involved.
The big buyers i know targetted for avalon clones from the start because they didnt want to risk anything. Big order and so... the other part is targetting klondikes. There are good offers for wholesale buyers for klondike assembly out there, though not public. So i doubt a bit that one of these buyers bought the bare pcb's and now wait. Of course only if the parts arent known already. But that has to be part of the open source design. Otherwise it would only the software thats missing and thats not the worst part. Too risky for burnin i think.

I have 60 Chips, so i'll need 3 complete boards for 20 chips each.
In my Opinion I can run them all as stand alone modules over a standard usb-hub, so I don't need additional material, do I?
But, if i want 2 run them all over one usb, i'll need one stacking cabel to combine them all.

The site is back up again.
This time hopefully without the problems from yesterday.

Anyone with existing orders please log-in and check them thoroughly, cancel and replace them when there are errors.
Or pay them if not.

"but i didn't register" - you are registered now, use the "password forgotten" function to reset it and log in.

Bare PCBs are back in stock but with increased lead time.

To the Problem of "Stolen" chips:
There is an additional verification step before any board gets shipped.
How will this work?
I need a signed message that signs your shipping address with the bitcoin-address used to order the chips.
I will work close with the Distributors, if they already have your "real" address i can use their reference lists do accelerate the processing.

@burnin... the additional security is a good thing. I didnt want to come in the situation to explain that the chips are already gone. Wink

The shop works fully fine now. The only thing im wondering is... as a german salesman... targetting an international public... dont you still have to keep on german laws for such shops? I mean Abmahnungen are a pain. And you offer the products without vat, you put the vat on products at the end. That ok in other countries but in germany the prices have to include the vat from the start. Thats why i suggested to use opencart, there is a specialized version for german laws.
But maybe its different when targetting worldwide, im not sure.
