I'm more curious about Threadripper   Cheesy

Not sure the price / hash ratio will be better on the new TRs.

I believe at least threadripple will more than 20% efficient compared with ryzen to produce the hashrate but again CPU will never be profitable to be used to mine crypto. I have seen the latest benchmark of the CPU comparison to mine XMR and they are all giving the worst result.
Even XEON still get a lost.

CN soft shell already is ok for CPUs, and random X will be much more CPU oriented.

Ofcourse CPU-mining can be profitable,  atleast it can pay for itself if you buy a decent cpu  also monero isnt the only algo that you can mine.

Its a win win situation.

You will pay a premium for Threadripper to get 4 channel memory. Whether that premium is worth it depends
on how much the algo benefits from higher main memory bandwidth. Otherwise with the same number of
threads and same cache size you should get the same performance. I think Ryzen is more cost effective.

If AMD could improve their AVX2 performance they would blow Intel out of the water on every point.

Ye I agree with you. But still intersted to see the results

Even i never tried but we need to see some results because one of my friends suggested me about this AMD Ryzen, but when it comes to cost it seems the price of this AMD Ryzen is little high according to based on the hash rate.

I'm really curious to see the hashrate of Ryzen 3700
I used to mine with a Ryzen 1700 and I paid the costs with mining XMR on my old rigs

Any known hashrate for the new Ryzens?

I have been checking reviews from tech websites and tech tuber for benchmarks and reviews of the new Ryzen, but I have yet to see a hashrate for it. They have only tested these processors for gaming and productivity as this there the real world case scenarios for its usage. Though I still want to see how these processors compare from the mining standpoint as if you but lets say a 12 or 16 core mainstream CPU, you will not be able to use all of its cores in simple tasks. So if in any case using you PC while mining could be a good option.

Just finished a build and a stream using the Ryzen 7 Gen 3 3700x and the new 5700 XT. Bottom line, no real kernels in place for the 5700XT (RDNA architecture), might be a week or so for that, but the Ryzen 3700+ got 1252h on Bittube and benches at 4152h on MoneroX test. Working to get it running with Monero_R now, will fire up the stream tomorrow if we are able to get it working.

Recap tomorrow morning on youtube on all results to date.

I'm more curious about Threadripper   Cheesy

Why?

I have

The 1800x
The 2700x

And the threadripper 1920x

I have the 3900x on order.

I am pretty sure it will crush the 1920x mining XMR

It has a very big catch.
When it comes I will post it here.

Hey philip could you check your  randomX benchmark for 1920x ,  myself i seem to get around 6300-6400h/s  for my TR..

Any more then 12 threads and i get lower hashrates.

Yeah. 3rd gen Ryzen amazing Grin. Pretty much 3600 or 3900x  for RandomX  are the sweet spot. Not saying 3700X is bad, but dollar/hash  its  3600 or 3900X thats the top choice.
