There are a few reasons people are buying bitcoin, they could use bitcoin to make payment online easily to other merchant who accept bitcoin as payment, another reason would be the long term investment potential of bitcoin value rising in the future.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

People are still buying bitcoin because they know that they can earn from it. Even though bitcoin price nowadays is constantly changing, we all know that sooner or later, we can reap what we have sow. So that is why people are still buying bitcoin until now.

People are still buying bitcoin because they know that they can earn from it. Even though bitcoin price nowadays is constantly changing, we all know that sooner or later, we can reap what we have sow. So that is why people are still buying bitcoin until now.
People are still buying Bitcoin even the price drops because they believe that whatever challenges it faces Bitcoin can surpass them all. And besides it is the most popular cryptocurrency. |

Because it is a good asset investment. It has great expectation of capital appreciation. This create a long-term capital appreciation better than common stocks. Owning your own stocks of Bitcoin gives the investor a stake which is can be claim on its future earnings. We have a saying that something we to deliver today is not to be passed tomorrow. Late is too late.

To me, it seems pretty strange that people actually continues buying btc now...
Most people who buy bitcoin do so with confidence that the value of bitcoin will continue to rise and others will want it in the future. Until now many people still use bitcoin to make payments online. In addition many investors argued that the most important factor driving the current enthusiasm is the enter of hedge funds and other institutional investors. |

Hello guys, To me, it seems pretty strange that people actually continues buying btc now... I understood why they wanted to invest in btc before, after the Chyprus crisis, and all the articles in the media. But now? I don't get it. Bitcoin is useless, and will most likely never be used as a currency. I spent hours trying to get my first bitcoins (satoshi actually), and after working for ages, I only got 0.002 btc, which does not even allow me to proceed to a transaction (the fees are higherthan that amount  ). When you compare it with CC or paypal, it seems that they are free to use in comparison! Not to mention the time required to actually proceed to a transaction which can be anything between 1 minute and ... 1 year (or more?). The only possible reason I see people are buying btc is that they (truly) believe that the price will increase, and want to make more profit. I think that 99.99 % of the bitcoins exchanged are never withdrawn from the exchangers, and the people are only waiting to make some profits. What makes them believe that the price will rise? Because the amount of bitcoins is limited? Because lost coins can never be recovered? I have no clue. An other problem is the "mining" part. Soon, the difficulty will increase, CPU and GPU mining will be useless. People will stop mining bitcoins and try LTC or something easy to get... The interest in btc will decrease. Other issues: - security. Not a single company was able to provide a "professional" service. Bitcoin-24 has a serious problem ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=174600.0 ). Even mtgox was critized for the lags, problems with missing coins, money, delay, and so on ... The hacks are countless (you can see new topics about that every day ...). I can't see anything positive about btc, and still can't get why people are buying it. Can any captain obvious explains? Thanks. You are wrong saying that bitcoin can never be used as a currency because it is being accepted as a means of payment worldwide and bitcoin is not useless because a lot are profiting from it and a lot of individuals became rich with just by dealing with bitcoin alone. |

People are invested in bitcoin in many ways.
They see good reasons to stick with it and most of them are thinking long term.
Things crash from time to time, it doesnt mean they are dead.
And besides that profit isn't the main focus for most of the old dogs of bitcoin.
Since many people earned profit in bitcoin, in huge amount, many of them holding millions of money because they joined trading and investing bitcoin, and their capital money invested will double the amount when it will back to them when time comes, that is the reason why people still buy bitcoin even the the market price still down, the important is you can wait. |

Even the bitcoin price drops there's a time that its price rise again which is good and where the people make happy. well, most of them buy bitcoin in large quantities to hold in the unspecified term. they want to capitalize on the bitcoin price increase to increase their bitcoin price then sell it. it is a thing always done by traders. sometimes they also use it to invest. |

I have been using an app were you can convert your bitcoin to fiat and pay bills. I even got a rebate everytime I used the app for payments. I think other countries have this app as well. Its coins.ph in our country. You can also send payments to anyone using bitcoin, ethereum or fiat. The price will increase someday and you will be one of those person to regret turning their back on bitcoin. Its not too late. Believe in btc and you will earn someday. |

Through holding of bitcoin possession in long period of time it resulting for price bubble in the market because of limited demand. Another reason is bitcoin give an assurance to the future of holders and users of it and they seen that bitcoin give security in the future of bitcoin holder or user through holding it.
Thus, this is some reason why people are continue buying and holding bitcoin.

Why does it seem strange to you? Even if the price changes it doesn't mean that this type of currency doesn't have future. BTC is a great type of investment. You should be patient waiting till the price is good

Bitcoins are currently traded with other crypto pairs and if they want to own the crypto they need to buy Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is becoming more and more popular and people love it and increase their ownership.
Bitcoin has a good graph back up and will soon reach the 10k level so they buy in to make the profit they desire.

there are still many people who buy bitcoin, because maybe they still believe in bitcoin, and indeed, bitcoin still provides a promising advantage for them. and bitcoin prices always jump at any time, it makes them have deposits for the future.

It will probably never be adopted at a global scale but bitcoin is still usefull. It's the only crypto currenty you can pay with on internet for example , not on all the websites, but some do accept bitcoin. And it's still the most famous currency.
