Urgent Mandatory Update Version 2.7

Dear Solaris Community,




The Solaris blockchain has suffered a stuck block after the switch from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake.

We believe this was caused by a number of reasons, but primarily the network was not fully stable and some large wallets caused the difficulty to spike, causing network instability and anomalies with connected nodes. In turn, this has caused a domino effect of a number of staking wallets forking away and most wallets being out of sync, leaving little to no active staking nodes with mature coins on secure the network.

We are releasing a mandatory update to fix the stuck chain, stabilize the network and return the XLR chain to an operating state.

Reward System Change



Seesaw mechanism has been identified as one of the primary causes for multiple wallets forking to a wrong chain during the change to Proof of Stake. After investigating this issue further, and learning that Pivx themselves are removing SeeSaw algorithm in their next update for multiple reasons, core team has made a decision to remove Seesaw mechanism from Solaris also.

After careful deliberation, examining the masternode trend until the PoS switch and taking community feedback on-board, the team has agreed to set forth 20%/80% reward split between stakers and masternodes respectively. We believe this is a fair reward split, as Solaris network is mature enough to support Masternodes while rewarding smaller stakers with more frequent rewards.

New block reward split will be:

20% Stakers / 80% Masternodes

If Budget Proposal is Active:

15% Stakers / 75% Masternodes / 10% budget system




Zerocoin Protocol Activation





Zerocoin Protocol activation which was scheduled for tomorrow, 18th of April, has also been included in this wallet version.

Please update your local wallets and masternodes as soon as possible!

Check if the protocol version is “70716” and if active time is going up. You might have to wait for 15-30 minutes and press “Update Status” to see the active time update. Allows up to 36 hours to start receiving rewards again.

So another 36 hours of loosing profits?

Solaris team have just proved again that they are extremely passionate and professional about their project. Not many coin could implement zerocoin protocol successfully. Solaris developers are doing a fantastic job delivering milestones one after one with solid quality. Thumbs up.

What missing masternode payout? No one got any payouts when the chain got stuck. Now it's moving again, and everyone who stakes or runs a node will get a payout.

It seems all fine after resyncing with the new wallet.
Masternode and staking are enabled and got a payment of 0.00000000 XLR with 10 confirmations so far.
Have no idea but it must be from staking.

I have downloaded, upgraded my wallet to the newest version. At first glance, it looks good. However, I will spend a couple of minutes to read more about the staking guide before start staking my coins.

No, not really.  This is getting tiring.  I have to check this thread every day or so to see whether there is yet *another* mandatory update.  It's getting old.  And if you don't understand why that is bad, ask yourself about ease of use as it relates to user adoption.  Is there a relationship between the two?  Hmm.  That's not nearly as complicated as the theory of relativity, but some goats won't understand what I have just said.

  You do realize that this is a tech product, not printed money. It's not a one time and it's done kinda thing. Consider yourself lucky that you are part of it in it's infancy. Could you imagine how many updates were needed to effectively run an Eniac or one of those earlier computer system from the 50s/60s/70s and even the 80s? Can you imagine how many updates Facebook does daily, just because you don't see it, does not mean it not happening in the backend. It's a tech product, which means there's codes involved and bugs might be imminent. You lucky to get involved at an early stage, so you get to experience some of the inner workings before it get big enough for A.I related duties to be introduced.

 As for me referring to a certain individual as a goat, i believe my reason for the quip is pretty clear. No one is losing money if no one got paid. If the world end tomorrow, you can't complain about been cheated out of life if no one survived, cos that which we call life ceases to exist.  Anyway, Some ppl like modular, some prefer semi modular, and some rather a non modular experience. You can appreciate tinkering, or you can go a route similar to ripple, or just leave the whole crypto space and go back to the comfort of the current traditional financial structure. My two cents at least.

Where did you get that price?
In CryptoBridge exchange, current price of Solaris is above 0.001 BTC for each XLR.
